if and when i get my tC... im gonna treat it as a luxury car... not a sports car.
at the most ill get a clean lip kit and a lip spoiler and some 18's. that would make me happy

 

none taken ;) honestly, what some people consider rice is what others think look cool. for me, i want to prevent making the car looking like what it isn't ( a sports car) BUT still make it look classy. i think so far, all the stuff added from factory on my car accomplishes that so far... someone was gracious enough to put up a vid clip of the exhaust and how it sounds and the deep growl it had was what i wanted. you don't know how many times i see civics slammed to the ground with nice rims, the z3 shark gills on the fender, impossible gilette twin blade razor spoiler, and millions of stickers slam the gas and hear the fartcan exhaust resonate to hell off of a stop light... only to be passed by me driving while i'm still breaking in the car. it makes me smile.

in any case... the civic is probably the single most upgradable car on the planet and there's a huge market for people who have product, for people who do buy the quality parts, and the suckers who buy APC and the like. but before that, let's just talk of logic here...why would you slap on a "fartcan" exhaust? you all know what it sounds like... does that sound good to anyone? at least find a nice one with a deep growl. anyone who is desperate enough to just mod the car with the first parts they can buy (usually APC) really have to slow down and think. i for one always waited to save enough money for the top name parts even when everyone was already driving their modded cars. i think the cars i buy are worth the wait for better parts.

i guess rice in my definition would be tacking on parts just for the sake of tacking on parts even though they may have no purpose except to look different than the rest(exhaust tips, stickers, fenders, altezza lights, etc) and to try to make it look fast when it isn't. granted, i still feel a car is a canvas for your own personal expression, but i feel like you'd be embarassing the car by doing the above.

oh and i think a supercharged or turbo highyl modded tC running high 13's is a sports car to me. im no ttalking about exotic sports cars i mean american and asin sports cars which would be - supra, mustangs f-bodys vettes. and when a tc is staying up with a trans am and beating mustangs i think anyone should and would call it a sports car. it just isnt one off the lot.

Just sticks on! It would be pretty easy to make it magnetic. They have other styles, too.

 

Me and a few of my buddies came up with a different name for rice, We call it a Farrell because that is the last name of a guy that put more and more useless ____ on his car, and thought with each new thing he did that it made his car better, and thought we would want him in our car club.
So now whenever I see a car that is "rice", I will say there goes a Farrell.

 

Yeah, we got the same thing here, it's called "Bidwell", or "Steve" if it's REALLY bad. The pic at the top of the page definitely qualifies as Bidwell, because you forgot the spinner hubcaps! If you had them, you'd be Steved!

That website is fargin' hilarious. I'm lucky enough to have customers with some class who have not disgraced their Scions yet. I hope it stays that way.

BTW, I'm not going to do that stuff to our tC demo car, just my Avalon. What do you think?

haha I've actually seen some of those cars on laughatrice.com in person! The owner of the blue eclipse with the fast and the furious graphics in gallery 8 works at the Winn Dixie where I live. lol

Oh yeah and that picture was done in MS paint... photoshop would have been too good.
