Unleaded??
Can you use Premium gas in the tC??
Just wondering before I did it...
Would like to treat my baby to a nice lunch every once in a while if it wont give her indigestion...

putting premium in your car will not help it unless you have a turbo charger. you should get well over 200,000 miles with regular unleaded. It's a Camry motor.
It will burn more money and not make your car any better.
And you don't want to be mixing unleaded one week and premium the next.
certain cars require it like the 350Z or toyota supra.
Here's why its better (for high performance cars). it burns cleaner and hotter than regular 89 octane which is better for the environment. now cars that require it.. such as a 95 supra... need it or will get pinging (spark knock) this is caused by the fuel combusting before the spark plug ignites it.. which is very bad.. basically you can blow your engine. so premium is better.. and being able to drive over 100mph has nothing to do with what kind of gas you need to buy. go by what your owners manual says...
hope this helps.

lol viper, don't hit the back button then submit twice
.
You can edit posts as well (you don't need to explain yourself in a new post, just edit your post)
But if you want to get premium gas, it's your choice. You won't see any increase besides a placebo effect.

Using higher octane than called for is bad for the environment, too. Premium burns at a higher temp and your engine's not going to compress it enough to burn thoroughly, causing the cat to work harder and release unburned fuels into the atmosphere.
And you still won't get any benefits to speak of. Keep your baby on a steady diet of 87 octane and buy some Fuel Injector cleaner every few months when you want to "give it a treat".

The owner's manual says "Use 87 Octane (91 Research Octane)," which is very unclear. 87 OR 91 Octane, or is 91 Research Octane another name for 87 octane?
The manual is written in high Engrish, give people a break when we have questions about it.
