My '06 TC has been in the shop for 5 days with no end in sight. It's in for the third time on the hatch rattle. I've only had it one month. That's 23 days with me and 7 with the dealer! The dealer gave me a Tahoo which is like going from a big wheel to a bull dozer! I'm getting a little concerned that if the known fixes were performed they probably didn't work which is why it's taking so long. In my case the rattle is not minor, it's like a tool box or a rat running through ductwork. Oh well, at least I'm saving some mileage. Still love the car though....hope they get this resolved.

PS- Scion has been AWESOME so far in handling this problem and communicating with me and the dealer...props!

that sucks, but it's cool that they're taking care of it.

That's the one thing that kills me about this car is the couple odd rattles I've developed already at 3500 miles. I can fix 'em though, I'm resourceful. :D

Ya, there are a few other posts about rattles...which is making me concerned, I will get a Scion within a Month.
Ima confront the Sales person about this, so if they see me within a month of getting the car, they wont be surprised.

well at least you'll get it back fairly soon. I remember my car was in the shop for over month getting fixed because of an accident. now that was pure torture.

your tC was an 06 and it rattles? I though that problem was fixed in the 06?

Hope it doesn't happen to me.

Uh OH... I'm getting my 06 by September 9th... I hope I don't get the Hatch Rattle either...

It's an 06 and it's still in the shop (8 days now). They took the rear window out and are waiting for a part to put it back in. So far the service dept has been great but they told me today that they won't know if the rattle is gone until after the window is put back in.

Update... Today was the day I thought I was getting my car back. The part came in for the rear window to be reinstalled and they just wanted to drive it to make sure it didn't rattle. The rattle is still there so they are moving on to something else. It's been with the dealer 16 days. This is 18 days total for the 42 days I've owned it. I'm glad Toyota and Scion care although if I missed 18 of the last 42 days of work I'd be fired! The money spent on a rental car and the technician's time combined with my car with only 1300 miles on it could have added up to a switcheroo on another TC that didn't rattle. I'll keep y'all posted.

My hatch rattle is loud as hell right now....then again I'm over 20K miles. I'm going to go over to the service dept one of these days and have my buddy check it out.
