why does it look like it doesn't fit flush in the 2nd pic? is there a groove in the original tc antenna base? i don't have my tc yet, so i'm just wondering...

Yes, there is a groove because the tC antenna base is rounded where the holding screw is.
But it adds beauty to the antenna since the groove looks like it was designed that way.
The holding screw looks like it may be removed so it will sit flush but I have not tried it.
I prefer it the way it is now.

I got mine today. Looks great. I'll take some pics the next time I'm taking pics. I might put some Loctite on it tomorrow. I noticed that even my factory antenna was very loose when I took it off.
