Default V6 tc????

So me and a friend of mine were talking about the tC. i was telling him what a great car it is and how it ahd teh camrys 4 cyl. he made a good pointi beleive when he asked me why the tC doesnt have the camrys V6 in it..

i think it would pretty awesome to have that kinda power in there. the camrys v6 makes about 230 hp now witht the vvti. thats probably better than the supercharger.

also if its possible to put the 05 camrys 5 spd auto transmission!!???

hmmm...

Default Toyotas normal cost on engine alone is an extra 2,700

This is the ONLY way I will ever trade in my TC ( errrr, unless a really nice yellow pearl color is added thats NOT tacky ) for another one.
Still, add almost 3 grand to the cost is something the marketing gurus at Scionland will probably not touch for a few years,.

OMG Pearl yellow and a v6. /me passes out

Size may become an issue. The v6's are what, 3.0 liter? Should fit, but think of how cramped everything would be. I know my v6 mx-6 was a _____ and a half to work on because the bay just wasn't big enough.

Yeah as I said, there actually is a good amount of room. I'd like it to keep it that way personally, you'll be thankful if you keep your car 5+ years and start having to do preventative maintenance on it.

Toyota is coming out with a 3.5L for the Avalon and they have a 3.3L V6 in the Sienna, Es330, rx330, Camry SE v6 and Solara v6

Don't go messing with the puny 3.0 liter v6 in the Camry. Bump to the 3.3 that is in the SE's/Siennas/Highlanders. Lot more fun and much easier to mod from what I hear.

If Audi can fit a 4.2 V8 into the A4 (the S4), then I think Toyota could shoehorn a 3.0 into the tC.

I'm sure they can, but they want to keep the price of the tC down. If the Camry engine bay can fit the 4 and the 6 in there, they can fit the 6 into the tC.

Well, yeah, that's where the $15,000 difference between the A4 3.0 and the S4 4.2 comes in ;)

The 3.0L 1MZ-FE ain't puny. I've seen 400HP+ figures out of that engine. And it was on a manual tranny, something which you can't have on the 3.3L.

Some people in this thread are missing one of the main points: If the Camry has both the 2AZ and the 1MZ, then there's a good chance that the 1MZ will simply bolt in.

Also, Turbo magazine has a 1MZ (with 5sp) in a 95 MR2 that's both turbocharged and supercharged. The MR2's engine bay isn't exactly large either. Are you guys implying that 500+HP isn't enough?

Yea if we drove around in camrys there would be a good chance it'd just bolt on.

Chances are good you'd have to get a new tranny with that, then you'd have to upgrade the supsneion due to more weight and and power being put out.

Doesn't seem like a viable cost to bennefit ration to me.

the 3.3L is the same motor as the 3L with MINOR changes...

the 3.3L technically could be fitted with a manual transmission

As long as we're dreaming, I'd like to drop in one of those V12 bastards from the top-end mercedes line. Oh, and a rocket engine on the back so I can melt cars who tailgate.
