Vents in the trunk......AIR?
Hey everyone, ok im just wondering as to why their are 2 vents in the trunk that lead to outside. There is one on each side of the trunk right behind the backside of the rear wheel wells. These bring in a lot of road noise and was wondering what they are used for and if we could just cover them or something? Im thinking there probably to bring fresh air into the car, but what would happen if i just covered them up?? Thanks everyone
P.S. they were also in my honda civic when i had one..

They are there for cabin pressure relief. When you shut a door or trunk with all closed windows there is built up pressure in the cabin and that is the vent to relieve it. I probably wouldnt block them off.
well looks like im gonna try it tommorow....i have all of my panels off right now tho....so im guessing that nothing will happen, also should i be worried about any gases forming in the car or anything before i try this ____? lol
To OP: Why would you want to block them?
Roll down your windows, then roll them up, you should hear a difference right as the roll up, it best noticed when you open/close the sunroof

For cabin pressure. If you don't like the loudness of the exhaust then I recommend a silencer/resonator; or get a new exhaust that is not as loud. Don't just close up manufactored vents that were obviously built for a reason.
dont have an aftermarket exhaust....and its not that loud but im doing sound deadening and noticed a lot of road noise comes from these 2 vents....thats why i was asking cuz i thought they were def put there for a reason
