Inspired by the topic where I first posted, here it is. I am waiting for the SC and I encourage everyone else to vent here about the extended release date and all else SC related. Someday it will be mine...

I started going cross-eyed the farther and farther I read that post, and I think I had an Aneurysm at the end.....

waiting for the supercharger sucks, I want it SO bad I can taste it... but at least that gives me more time to save money so it won't hit my wallet as hard, instead of planning AROUND it, I can plan FOR it......

yay! ....I think?

I figure on the gas milage isn't that great on the tC already... what's the milage on the SC?

The milage on the tC definatly doesn't suck. It's not like we're tooling around in hemi-powered station wagons!

Nobody will know the milage of the SC because it isn't out yet. The common consensus is that they are still seeking CARB approval. The changes they would need to make to get the thing approved would also impact the milage, so this figure will be up in the air until thats all finalized.

My guess is that the loss in milage will be fairly significant, but ultimatly depends on a bunch of factors. Including the size of the until, boost threshold, wastegate sizing, and a/f maps, etc.

I just sold my ol' 96 Nissan truck for $2000 and will be putting that toward the SC. Hopefully won't have to put too much on credit.

Hi, my name is sifu and I am a tC SCaholic. I have been driving a sober car for over 76 days, 11 hours, and 35 minutes.. I am indeed needing a quick fix and am depressed on the thought that I can not satisfy my addiction to torque. Thank you for this group thread. I need a hug.

It's also possible the SC will want premium gas, so that's extra at the pump as well.

Sucks that you are throwing 20-30 cents a gallon away like that.

There are tons of threads on this and the general concensus is...stick with 87 octane. You get NO additonal benefit.

Search for forums that mention octane, you get dozens and in not a single one has anyone put up a valid point for using 91+ octane in our cars.

Yea, don't get confused by the octane myths some people spout as facts here. 87 is what the car is designed and programmed for, anything higher won't cause damage but is just wasting money.

I worked at a gas station for almost 7 years and they totally try to push the higher octane as if everyone will benefit. I bought into the myth for about a year, then I was enlightened. I won't mind putting in an extra 20 cents when I get my SC. What is the difference between $2.39 and $2.59?

Shell pushed a fuel in Australia with 98 octane rating called Optimax, claiming that this would give you more power etc.. interesting..

http://www.shell.com/home/Framework?...t_ga_1602.html

"Shell Optimax is a fuel as advanced as today’s high performance vehicles and was the first high octane fuel created in Australia.

Shell Optimax results from years of research into what drivers want from their cars: better performance, greater efficiency and cleaner engines.

If you care about your car, then Shell Optimax is the fuel for you. It’s a petrol as advanced as today’s engine and comes from years of research into what drivers really want from their cars. So if you’re looking for better responsiveness, try Shell Optimax next time you fill up.

What makes Shell Optimax different?

Shell Optimax is a High Density, High Octane (HDHO) fuel. 98 Octane is the highest octane level available on the market. The special formulation of Optimax is designed to optimise the performance of your car.

Clean your engine as you drive
Clean Your Engine

The special cleansing properties of Shell Optimax care for your car’s engine – regardless of age. Built-up carbon deposits on inlet valves are removed and fuel injector nozzles are also kept clean and in peak condition.

Shell Optimax makes your car’s engine work the way it was meant to. The more you use Shell Optimax, the cleaner your intake system becomes.

Developed with Ferrari

Working with the Shell supported Ferrari Formula One team has given our scientists a unique insight into engine performance. With the focus on optimum responsiveness and track reliability, we have been able to apply that knowledge to the development of Shell Optimax.

More kilometres (miles for you yankees )than regular unleaded

Shell Optimax is a High Density High Octane unleaded fuel. The high density of Shell Optimax means that a higher mass of fuel is packed into the same volume. Because Shell Optimax is a high density fuel, in some vehicles this can lead to improved fuel economy."

Interesting indeed.. i wonder if its placebo that your getting better performance.
