Default Warming up the tC

Ok,i hope this does"t seem like a dumb question, but figured ill ask.

OK,How long do you TC owners warm up your car for first thing in the Morning, when its not to cold out....Cause ive ask others about this, and they say 30 secs and then they go,But for me i usually let it go for about 2-3 mins, cause if i just start it up and drive, the gears wont be smooth at all..

Is it even good for the car if you just start the car up,then wait 30 secs then drive,i would think then you should wait at least a min or two,i know the more you drive the faster ill warm up...but figured ill ask

I used to wait til rpms dropped below 1000. But honestly it was a little OCD. I just turn it on for 30 seconds let the pumps get pumping and go.

I wait till the rpms fall to 1k, and the temp is within operating temps

I don't let the car warm up at all unless it's below freezing out, even then I'll only let it run for only a minute or two. Now that I'm turbo though I'm thinking about letting it warm up a bit more....

5 seconds, which allows time for me to disengage the parking brake and set the car into gear.

i warm up the car while driving it.

When its really cold out i let it warm up for a little bit but if its warm I give it no time to warm up. There is no reason too, driving it will warm it up faster, i just dont run it really hard when I first drive it.

I warm it up none in the summer, and none in the winter, no not even when its 5 degrees. Why? My car was made in the 21st century, so was yours -_-

just dont rev high and floor it before its warmed up and your fine.

As quoted from the OWNER'S MANUAL (great book to read by the way)..

"Engine should be warmed up by driving, not in idle. For warming up drive with smoothly turning engine until engine coolant temperature is within normal range."

also obvious, common sense, as well as mentioned in the Owner's Manual:

"Do not race a cold engine."

I dont bother warming it up, I just drive it for like 5 mins until the temp gauge goes to the middle. I don't take it above 3000 rpms. After its warmed up, thats when I know I can punch it and not risk engine damage.

interesting answers,i guess some let there car warm up and others dont,im gonna try to just start up the car for 30 secs then drive it,wanna see how it feels,i usally let the rpms drop to 1k then shift at 2800 rpms until the temp gets to operating

to be OCD about it... we all let our cars warm up...

as far as methods of doing so? that's where it's different.

that makes no sense..

you're still starting the car... and then having the engine warm up in idle before you get into the car and drive off.

yes. it's under a nice yellow "NOTICE" section in the section called "Starting and Driving" in your Owner's Manual.
