Default Warranty Question - Please help!

So my front right tire felt into a drainage ditch the other day. Now when I drive it pulls a little to the right. So I took it to my Scion dealer to get an alignment done and they said that my control arm is bent and that I need a new one. It'll cost $600.

My question is, since I have the extended warranty that covers everything (except wear and tear items), can I argue my way in getting this covered by my warranty or is that void because I was the one that accidentally dropped the front tire into the ditch? Also, should I take it somewhere else to get a cheaper price. I looked online and found a control arm for $140. That's not $600!

First off make sure the one you found online is the exact same as the one you need. Lots of parts say they work with other cars and they truly don't. Now for warranty work, no you can't get that done under warranty. You damaged it, it didn't bend from abnormal usuage or defects. Sorry, that sucks that it happened to ya. I would def. try to find the correct control arm and then find a few shops and see what they will charge to put it on. Just understand that if another shop does it the dealership will not honor the warranty on that part anymore and if the other place does something wrong that in-turns screws something else up over time the dealership is not liable to fix it either since they didn't do the work. You would have to go after the other shop to get them to repair it then so make sure the shop you use is going to warranty their work for a few years!

"hi, i busted my car, can you fix it under warranty?"

uhm... no

warranty covers defects with the car, not of the driver.

kinda mean i'll have to admit... but really, that's what he's working with... no one in their right mind would try to even ask such a question.. or even think that it was possible.

my last statement stands.

You are kinda screwed on the warranty but maybe claim it on your insurance? Or also get some money out of the city if the drain is in a place that it shouldn't be? I doubt that will work but hopefully it all works out for ya

^ knew someone who had a rock crack their windshield and blamed the road and got it payed for so it may work if the drain position is weird. Good luck in finding a better price.

I dont think you will get that covered under warranty since that is really damage not a defect. Good luck though
