do yall think this will be a good alarm for my tC?
no, i dont wanna get a viper. its a nice alarm, but i really dont feel its worth it.
i really jus need something to notify me if something is happening to my car.
but at the same time, it has to be decent.
is this alarm decent/worth it?

I think alarms are a pretty big waste of money. a little "woot woot" noise isnt goign to stop anyone, and I don't know about you, but wher eI live noone gives a noise like an alarm a second look. I jsut think you should save your money imo.

I don't know about you, but I've learned to tune out car alarms. One of my neighbors had her car towed (legally) late one night... we just thought a cat had triggered it and went back to sleep. Imagine the surprise she got when she tried to go to work.
Mine was $600 installed (CyberTrak), but I think I've seen another for as low as $250. They aren't cheap, but in the rare chance you have to use it, it'll be cheaper than a new car.
take 2fast4you's advice car alarms are worthless. If you really want to make your car theft proof you have to do something they arent ready to disarm. Personally i know how to bypass almost every auto manufacturers imobilizer alarms and keys, its not that hard. So you have to do something they wont expect....like.....run a switch to your fuel pump and hide it. He will be trying to rip out the imobilizer box, reset the key code, etc etc etc etc. He wont think to search your car for a non factory switch you hid somewhere to turn on the fuel pump.
I actually chatted to buddy of mine at work. He currently works at high proformance shop part time. And we talked about Lo-Jack and he said if you really want your car theft proof; buy a alarm system that automatically kills the ignition. For the time being, I have large "German Shepherd" bumper sticker on the back hach window...I'm not scared to show him off to few people
He senses people's fear quite well....
Insurance takes care of the theft (at the cost of the depreciated value of the car itself). Security systems are just what they describe. A sense of security.
My car = ~$16,750. The cost of personalized mods and the time and money to make it “my car” = priceless.
A security system that honks the horn = worthless. A security system that “tells” me that my car is in danger + gives me the chance to defend it (and its contents) = not paying the deductible, and not losing the personal property not covered = priceless.
It costs money for a decent security system. But that is reimbursed when it comes to insurance premiums. Even if you cannot prevent the theft, you will at least be able to replace your loss with the money saved.
Firearm ownership for the purpose of security can also be beneficial. It is more controversial than a simple “security system” so I will not elaborate on my thoughts here, since we are talking about vehicle safety and not personal safety. If there is a current discussion on “firearms for security” in the off-topic cafe, then I’ll discuss it there (I’m just too lazy and not concerned with this topic to do a search).

jus keep me posted
An alarm is just an alarm. It won't stop people from stealing your baby. If you want to keep people from stealing your car, drive a beater and garage your baby. Then hope no one knows about it, lol.
Other than that, doesn't matter which alarm you get. Get an alarm, The Club, The Club for your pedals, removable steering wheel, and hidden kill switch. Even then, if someone wants it, they can still take it. (But you'll be happy knowing that it'll be a _____ for the guy stealing it.)
