The Weather Stripping on the Windshield is BUBBLING!
Yup,
You read that right, the weather stripping on my tC's windshield is actually bubbling up. It's directly above where the driver's visor is located.
It's actually at my dealership right now being checked out. But I have to ask has anyone else ever even heard of this happening before?
I'm going to be taking a photo soon as I can to show you all what I'm talking about.

Neither. Its not the tint at all. Its actually the weather stripping going around the windsheild.
Sorry, guess I suck at trying to explain this. As soon as I can I'm going to head on over to the dealership and shoot some pics with my phone.

Naw, you don't suck at explaining it. I just misread it...
Hmm, interesting. I have never heard of the weather stripping bubbling up. I guess I could understand it if it were here in TX or farther south where it's getting really warm... but not where you are.
I would def like to see some pics.

sounds like what my old honda did. The weather stripping around the windshield is usually glued down via an adhesive. the best thing without taking out the windshield (could crack the windshield doing that), is to just glue it back down using butyl adhesive. If your dealer is good, they'll glue it down using this or call a glass company in to do the work.
is that the "bubbling" you're talking about? that it's rising up in spots and not laying flush with the body? or are there physical bubbles in the weatherstripping itself?

I didn't have anything happen to my weather stripping, but there were some problems with the adhesive holding my headliner up, causing a lot of squeaking and noise.
The dealership told me they had to pull down and re-glue the headliner.
Mich's post reminded me of that, I really wonder about the adhesives used in these cars...

Well I took picture sadly I'm stuck at work at the moment so I'm not going to be able to upload them until I get home later.
But as far as adhesives go, its not that. We actually had to order a whole new peice of moulding.
I actually just got back from getting my car back and nothing was done at the vendor the dealership sent the tC to.
The reason for that? Because they don't know how to take the window out and put it back WITHOUT breaking it. So they're contacting another place they use to fix it.
Just to give everyone a heads up, I worked at this dealership for 2 years so I know they're going to be taking care of me. Thats why I wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem so I could use my example to help them.
Thanks for the help though guys, much appreciated.

The weather stripping on my hatch came off about 1/2 way...
The dealership had to call a glass specialist and he had to take out my rear windshield, replace the weather stripping and then put the glass back in. it took him about 4 hours to do it...

I wish it could be that simple! Haha
I work at an AutoMall here in South Jersey, and we have a few "mini-car washes" behind a few of the dealerships. I will normally just sneak my car through one of them every once in a while. So if it has anything to do with those chemicals then every car we sell here would be having the same problem... dear god I hope thats not the case! haha

Ok, Well in case anyone is looking for an update here goes.
I dropped the tC off this morning and just picked it up. My baby is fixed and looking good.
They didn't have to replace the window or anything.
