So i ordered Weathertech Vents for my car. I put them in today and i have a problem. On my right window when i push the automatic return button it just snags on the vent and goes down (safety thingy). Is this always going to be like this, or what?
Sounds like either a defective guard, or it's broken.
The guard stays in place by pressing against the inside of the window channel, which also causes it to bow out slightly, keeping it away from the window. If your window is hitting it and going back down, then the guard is not pressing against the frame.
I had to have guards shipped to me 3 times before I got a full working set. One was broken on delivery, and another cracked and broke during install. Carefully try to remove the one that's hitting. I'm guessing the B pillar end of the guard was cracked and broke when the window hit.
Haven't had any problems since, keeps the car cooler in the summer and I don't have to worry about sudden rain storms.

Just keep fiddling with it.

uhm...did you follow the directions? i put a set onto my gf's xa, and it says that once you put them in, you have to leave the windows fully up for 24 hours to get them to stay in place properly. did you do that?

yes i did. I took them off today and thought maybe if i reinstalled them again they would fit. It turns out that the left tab of the vent was cracked. I know 100% that it didnt crack during installation. For now i glued the piece back on with crazy glue, and it works perfect. Im guessing this was the problem. I want to figure out how it cracked in there.
Should i call the company and ask for a replacement? I mean 100% it didnt crack during installation. Is this problem covered by the warranty?

odd
my windows rolled up fine when I installed mine.
only thing is that it would slow down the closer it got to the top. after about a week, it opens and closes at normal speeds.
