Nice SSRs. As for painting the lower grille, I'd go with white over chrome. However painting them white might make your car look like it was from the early 90s. Hopefully you prove me wrong.

Not very much. I have a 3-4 threads left until the bottom of the coilover. Tein SSPs don’t go very low.

Yes, in a deep dark red.

I only have 5mm spacers in the back. The front actually pokes out alittle. When I factor in negative camber, I can go an additional 5mm in the rear. I had the spacers on my old Volks. After I got the SSRs, I gave them a try and it worked out.

The last gen Celica came out in 2000, while the RSX came out in 2002. So RSX seats sorta look like Celica seats. LOL

I got mine from a friend and newcelica.org. I always see them on Ebay, but shipping kills it.

I haven’t gotten there yet LOL. My tC and the celica seats don’t have side airbag, so that’s one less things to worry about.

Firestone Complete Auto Care centers offer lifetime alignment for $170 (and I think $70 for 1-time). The lifetime alignment offers free unlimited alignment (to factory specs) as long as you own the vehicle. Valid at “Firestone Complete Auto Care” centers, not other Firestone stores. Last month I found a $15 off alignment coupon (for 1 time or lifetime) on their website. When I went in with the coupon, the salesperson (who was also the assistant manager) asked if I wanted the lifetime alignment. I replied it was more than i wanted to spend. So she offered to knock off $30. So I took it for $140. Right now there's $10 off alignment coupon: http://www.firestonecompleteautocare...jsp?image=3270

at my current ride height, I dont want negative camber. If I went lower, I'd need it. Going down to a 215 from a 225 tire reduces rubbing so I wont need negative camber (as much) if i go lower.

On a different note, I came across this GTI on vwvortex this morning. There's alot of things I like about this car that could be done to a tC.
I want a spike on my centercap. It looks nice on dished wheels.
I like how gap behind the door handle was shaved, top of the taillight was shaved (sleeply look), and the molded trunk extension.

compare to a GTI without the body mods

tC for comparison

the space behind the door handle on the driver and passenger doors. its where your fingers go when you grab the door handle.

Update on the seat install.

I pulled out my tC driver's seat and test fitted the unmodified Celica driver's seat. I drilled out one of the rear brackets on the Celica seat. MotherF'er had 2 thick rivets and a spot weld. Took me an hour just to remove that 1 bracket. The remaining 3 brackets on the Celica seat have 1 rivet and 1 spot weld each ugh (plus the 4 brackets with rivets and welds on the tC seat). The Celica driver's seat wiring has 2 connectors (a 2 wire and 4 wire) just like the tC, but the connectors are different. I dont have seat airbags (on my car and Celica seats), so I cant speak to any potential airbag wires. I suppose I'll just run without the wiring which disable the drivers airbag, but thats no different than using an aftermarket steering wheel that has no airbag.

6/12/09 updated
i finally removed the 2 rear brackets and test fitted the seat according to the new measurements. Next I need to re-weld the brackets at a muffler shop. No drilling into the tC floor required, but that method would have been alot easier and less time consuming.

Once I sat in it I instantly realized how much lower you sit. I'm 5' 8" and I felt super low. Definitely good for someone over 6 feet tall. The seat belt buckle works just fine, but the wiring connectors are different. I suppose I can swap over the tC buckle.

In the car and fully functional.

That looks nice! I like those seats in there. I'm not a fan of sitting to high in the stocker seats.

finally installed the seat today. you can see in the photo the seat bolster is lower (the whole seat is lower, not just the bolster) than the center console. the passenger tC seat's bolster is above the center console in the back.
