Not rich by any means but yeah a plug check is in the works since I don't want the engine cover nuts to lock up from lack of use. Mostly it just takes a little extra cranking sometimes to start and if you stop cranking before it catches it gets "confused" and maybe floods a little. Sounds like weak spark for sure - 14k coming up soon so time to check the gap and maybe index them too.

Thanks for all the replys, I think the fuel pressure leak sounds like what it could be doing... I think I'll add some fuel additive that has "sealer" or whatever in it and see if that fixes the small leak if there is one, I might also try changing the plugs since thats a cheap fix, but if it was a weak spark why would it do it only on the first time it fires up? Don't make much since to me. And yeah our plugs are rated at 100k and my cars only at 22k so...

Similiar thing happened this morning. As i turn the key the initial "start" happens but then it sort of "gargles" its way to the start.

IT's wasnt the normal engine starting sound but it felt like something was blocked.

Ya... So this afternoon I went to go grab something to eat after not driving it for like 14 hours or so, go to start it up and the vehicle started up and fully died this time. Gonna take it to the dealer tomorrow and let them deal with it, its what a warrenty is for right? I brought it there before and they said nothing was wrong, and now its worse so obviously sometimes wrong.

The only things the computer has no control over is the Spark plug gap and fouling, the fuel quality, the fuel pressure, and unknown obstructions in the air intake i.e. little critters nesting in the air box.

I have a brand new K&N air intake, already replaced my old one and it still does it.. It's been at the dealer for a full week and they're telling me they can't figure out whats wrong with it..... at least I got a corolla while they're trying to figure out what they're doing. I'll let em have it however long it takes to get fixxed, they're paying for the rental not me, and I'm not putting mileage on my car either.

Interesting . Premium fuel as is recommended ? By whom ? The fuel could be the cause . I doubt it but , premium fuel will cause problems with the engine .

Sunoco always has used ethanol... 10%. And my car runs the absolute best on Sunoco. I AM a fan of ethanol, the main pro/con is better power/less MPGs

Actually i read about ethanol online and they say it cleans out your fuel sysytem so well, that people that start to use it on high mileage cars have to get their fuel filter replaced soon. Because all the crap that has built up over the miles is broken free and cleaned out, but picked up by the fuel filter.... Thats something to think about maybe

Maybe so, i don't know all that much about it, just the basics. I'm not too much of a tree hugger though, lol. I guess i'm kinda selfish in that respect. I just like my car to run good

It gives fewer BTUs than most alternative fuels. IMO Ethanol is a huge mistake only propagated by politicians who want to fool people into thinking they actually care about something.

Butanol would've been a better choice from what I've read. But whatever, its easier to use an additive that's expensive to produce, can't be directly replaced for gasoline, requires entirely new infrastructure, reduces mileage and performance, and can't be mixed ahead of time, right? /sarcasm

they say politician are pushing ethanol because a lot of voters are in the midwest.. if you don't get the children of the corn you will not win the presidential election... what better way to push corn than ethanol..

Did everyone see the PMR where they put the brand new bio diesel motor in the 65 impala. It got 25 mpgs and had 800 HP with 1400 Tq. Thats effin impressive. It out ran a Lambo Gallardo to 1/4 by over a full second!! Not sure if it is made by corn per say but i know it has something to do with seeds being ground up or something. They explainded the process on the show but i can't remember. Arnold the governator even dropped by to give his approval

Well the dealer called the other day and told me I need to get a new supercharger installed... which still doesn't make sense... I don't think they know what they're doing, but at least i got a decent rental car for the time being and not putting mileage on my vechile. And a new supercharger couldn't hurt anything. I just miss my car. This dealership is probably just gonna take an 07 and throw my parts on it and say its fixxed, cause it honestly seems like they have no clue whats going on and they've had it for 9 days now.
