Default Welding a cracked rim, does it last?

I had a cracked rim, a small crack on the inside ring, which would be the part that would get curb rash and stuff if it were on the outside, and I took it to a shop to get welded, and then one of my other rims were bent, slightly, but I had that fixed too via a machine they had. Is this safe and will last me? I know I have to eventually replace one of my rims which is warped from hitting a curb, for now itll last me a few days, but in any case, will my rims that were fixed be able to stand daily driving? These are the super sevens.

and how did they fix it did they just weld overlay the crack or did they grind it out and then fill it up. that will make a difference.

The super sevens as mentioned in the topic, and the crack was small so they just welded it, and after that they were balanced.

i'd replace it asap. without grinding that crack the crack is still there and will propagate.

its important that you grind out the crack. penatrant test to verify the crack was removed THEN weld, but welding isn't the best solution but it can be done if the proper steps are taken.

The problem with welding the area is that the heat affected zone is much weaker than the rest of the rim so it will bend that area depending on the size of the original crack and the welded area.

point: replace the rim. maybe now you see why i advocate better quality parts

Well they are the factory options 18s, Id expect them not to be cheap like Rotas and ASA rims and whatnot.
