Default Well that sucks...

I had a buyer for my car. I was selling it to him (another military dude). He called up USAA to borrow the $18,000 I am asking for it. And he gave the year and make and they said for an 06 he can only finance $13,000 because thats what it is worth stock.

So here I am with a buyer who cant get financed. This sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the few headaches of selling a modded car.

I can't believe USAA would do that. It's unlike them. I had a friend buy a modified car with a loan from them a few years ago and had no problem. Weird...

Tell USAA that you won't tell anyone that they touch themselves while looking at pictures of gorillas if they approve the price you're looking for.

Will it work? I don't think so.

Wish you good luck kind sir.

Yeah but the selling price of the modified car was probably close to the blue book value.

Handing out 18K loans for cars that book at 13k is just not good business. To lending institutions modifications do not add value, which is why selling modified cars can be such a headache sometimes.

Perhaps the buyer can secure a 5K personal loan from another institution?

Thanks all. Yeah I can understand why there is the issue. But I dont see why they cant do the extra as a line of credit.

I might see if he can do as will is saying and go somewhere else for the remaining. I am thinking of just bighting the bullet and dropping the price way down and saying screw it.

I wish we had carmax on island. I would strip the car and sell it.

I am so desperate right now. I need to fly back to the states in 3 weeks, and that costs a fortune.
