Default what did i do? no 1-touch windows, flashing light, no switch

OK, this one I do not understand. I removed both door panels and disconnected the windows/locks. As I was working @ a friend's house and didn't get done before it went dark, I reattached the driver's door and window switch and drove home. At night, I noticed the light on the driver's window switch was flashing... but I assumed it was unhappy because the passenger's door panel was missing.

Today I finished my project and reattached everything. The 1-touch window functionality is gone and the driver's side control for the passenger window no longer works. The driver's switch is still flashing its light at me. I can roll down the passenger's window with the switch on the passenger's door, and the driver's window also rolls up and down with it's switch.

So, what did I do and how do I fix it? Yikes!

Thanx for any help!

I'm sure there's been a few posts similar to this.

You have to reset the controls.

Sit at each respective door, hold the switch for the windows all the way down until the window's fully open, then hold up until the window's fully closed. Hold the switch in the up position for a full two seconds after closing. Resetting the pasenger side from the passenger side window should restore driver side controls.
Check the moonroof too, and use the same procedure if necessary.

As for the flashing light, maybe someone else can help you out.

Sounds liek it has to be reset, I think there is a window reset procedure in the car manual. Maybe disconnecting the battery for a while will do the trick.......

he's right. this happens anytime you disconnect the battery. the flashing light just tells you which window control needs to be reset. drove me crazy after i installed my navigation unit. i thought i blew a fuse or something. thank God for the forums.

ok, thanx! i must have done this without realizing it with the driver's side. the one-touch works there. oddly enough, now the passenger window won't operate at all. i wonder if i didn't "click" the connector in all the way? i may have to remove the door and reseat it... but it's good to know about the control reset. disconnecting the battery for 10mins is also a good trick to know.

i figured it was some sort of reset/ecu/computer control thing. thanks everyone for your help! you're the best!
