what do we want the 2nd gen tc to have?
- Longer seat rails that give the driver and passenger about 2" more legroom
- Telescoping steering wheel
- Redesigned HVAC controls, specifically a **** to choose air direction instead of a button
- A light that comes on when CRUISE is actually in effect, not just when it's ready to be used (a la Nissan or Honda)
- Maint Req'd light with more intervals to choose, like 7000 miles for us synthetic oil users. How about controllable in 1000 mile intervals to 10,000 miles

Lets see, some new stuff on the tC that wouldn't skyrocket the price:
1.LSD!!!! With all my drunken might, I pleaded with the VP of Scion at the Miami xB&xD release party to include this in the next tC.
2. Minimum 200HP NA I4 Engine. I think more aggressive cams and a higher rev limit and this can be achieved with little to no cost increase.
3. Bucket Seats! There are plenty of other Toyota vehicles for the 36"+ waistlined people to drive, I'm tired of sliding around on this "made-for-every-fat-man" seat.
There, thats not too much to ask for.

LED dash lights that can change color like the Mustang.

JUST BUILD THE FUSE!!!!!
- Give it a great, easily tunable motor that makes loads of torque from the show room, and keep it easy as heck to mod out. That is all that is needed.

I like the tC as is. . . no need to make it more expensive or bigger or whatever.
What we need are a set of halo cars, so that we can attract some REAL aftermarket attention. We need something along the lines of a Mazdaspeed 3, Sti, or Evo. . . maybe not quite to those levels, but at least something that competes with an Si. . . STOCK.
True, the tC performs adequately when modified, but it's besides the point. We NEED halo models. If we had TRD edition xA's, xB's, and tC's, we'd have TONS more aftermarket stuff available. But the fact that we have no real performance aspirations (in stock form), we don't attract performance enthusiasts. . . and those people make a big bulk of the aftermarket purchases.
Leave the 3 scions small and cheap and well packaged. . . that's how you make your bread and butter. The vast majority of Civics sold are NOT Si's. . . and the vast majority of RSX's sold are BASE models. But you better believe that have the Si and the Type-S helps to sell the rest of 'em.
We need turbo versions. . . or even a 3.5L powered tC in IS350 tune. Sure, FWD sucks, but a 306hp tC would definitely motivate the aftermarket. Even 265 would be a great start. Heck, I'd love to see 220, but I'm sure Toyota will never do it.
The supercharger is a sorry excuse for a performance package. Overpriced, and you don't even get the full package (suspension, brakes, etc).
Get rid of the Solara because it SUCKS. Add a high performance tC halo model. Price it at $27k. People will come in droves and the sales of base model tC's will go up significantly.

I am not going to wish for something not realistic like a twin turbo v6 because it wont happen.
My list:
1. More/different color choices: metallic orange and green maybe
2. Standard LED taillights. Can't cost that much more.
3. Lower, more aggressive look.
4. Few more horses would be nice, comparable to Civic SI.
5. Fewer rattles
6. A second wheel choice when purchasing(same size as stock, no additional charge)
7. Keep glass roof for unique factor.
8. Maybe a turbo option to rival in price an power the Cobalt SS, WRX, Ion redline etc.
9. Something else to make the car stand out as the unique tC does... maybe slide up trunk lid or gullwing doors like the FUSE. Something extra special.
Basically keep it cheap, sporty and unique like the original. Add maybe a performance version for the power hungry, but make them pay extra for it.

I just thought of something today that isn't insane or unreasonable for Scion to implement... an extra overhead compartment.
Not sure if you've seen them on other cars, but my sister's Altima and my dad's Sienna have these boxes that fold down from the roof... you can keep sunglasses in them. In my dad's Sienna, you can choose between a little door to stick a garage opener behind (so you just press an external button and keep the opener hidden. No expensive homelink or electronics needed)...
Anyway, I think I'd like to see that, and it should come with both sunglass and remote doors. I'd finally have somewhere to put my garage opener instead of having it slide around in the cubby hole all the time.
Of course, maybe this has some aesthetic issues, and maybe a minor issue since we do have a glass roof. Just an idea...

oh well, I guess this is an excuse for a project... find a way to hook up a switch to the cirucit board of my opener... it shouldn't be too hard I think. I can keep it hidden and just use a button in the switch bay on the driver's side...

There's a guy who did a stealth set up in his high beam switch. . . I think it was Mikochu (xA), but don't quote me. He set it up so that when he flashed his high beams, it would emit his garage door code, thus opening the door. Pretty cool beans.
