Default What do you want?

I'm Kellen,

I wanted to tell you that you have good ideas. Craven Speed wants to see your ideas come to fruition. If you share them, maybe we can make it happen. At your disposal is a small team of engineers, some of the best CNC and Mazak machinists in the world, and me... Your voice.

Use this forum to tell me what is missing from your tC that you can't find anywhere. What is available, but needs to be improved or modified. Just give me a chance to give you what you want.

Thanks

You can always holla at me 888-493-7262.

CNC huh? I'd personally like to see some brushed aluminum/bronze (B20 specifically) shift ***** with our specific threading, meaning that it's completely unique to the tC and cars that share the same thread specs.

Lame, but the rest of my ideas would be for audio, and I don't need anything in that department.

There is something I actually wanted to see. A alumunuim underpanel to help keep the underpanel clean, areodynamic, and cool. I seen them for the Celica I never see anyone make it for the tC yet.

It's funny you said such a thing, I made a batch of them not to long ago (only 6). I didn't have the correct metric tap drill for the M12 1.25 thread but a 27/64's was close enough. I mostly went off the TWM classic **** but changed the bottom end to flare out a little at a 1.25" radius to match the tC shift boot cap. It's a perfect transition, will have to post some pictures soon. Polished, nickle blasted, and left a few with the lathe finish.

Honestly, I'd like to see some heavy duty driveshafts that aren't just hardened. I really don't know myself.

Hit us with those pics Rob! Your hand made ***** sound cool. Widening the lower end to fit the boot is a good idea. I am not that fanmilar with the classic, which makes me more interested. No one wants to have mass produced junk. Something personal is always better, eh?

CS has an M12 x 1.25 **** too.

It won't fit the boot at the bottom like Rob's does, you need to fold the top in an zip tie it. The good news is we have a laser! I can put anything you want on the nice flat round surface on the top of the ****. Maybe you want your name, or a logo, or superman, or meatwad. I can etch it into the anodize and it will never fade.

For manual tC, I wished that there were gear position indicators on the speedometer like the automatics do.

I'm also interested in a fully lighted 3rd brake light bar that's already built together and easy to install.

Nobody has these available unless you DIY.

Here's the link to TWM:
http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/

I used 347 stainless steel. Personally, I think aluminum is a bad idea. Even using 6061-T6 alum is going to ding and scratch VERY easily. We work with it all the time (aerospace machine shop). Although anodizing it may be worth while but now you're talking about even more work that will add to the cost of material that isn't cheap. Not to mention, I can make the stainless shine like chrome, or have it match the dash.

I'll post pictures soon, maybe within a month. Look for them in the interior forum. Sold a few for $50 bucks a pc. Not a huge profit seeing how much work went into drawing, programming, and setting up the CNC but I wanted to sell them fast.

Rob

Sounds like a solid plan. You can really build a name for yourself with just a quality item like the **** you are describing. I know a guy who has become very popular in certain circles just for his quality shift *****. It keeps him busy as a profitable side business. Your use of SS is interesting. It would add some nice weight to the ****, and it would be more resistant to scratching like you said. I haven't had much of a problem with dinging the one on my car up, nor have I received any feedback in that light. While we are new to Scion, we have been making aftremarket parts for over 5 years. Still, that doesn't mean that it may not be an issue for some customers who haven't reported it. I think we should run a few in stainless and see how they feel. Good call Rob.

I also want to try to make this undercarriage skid plate. If you are in PDX holla at me. 888-493-7262.

Using alum as a shift **** probably isn't all that bad when I come to think about it. You really wouldn't have the chance to abuse it. I'd still suggest anodizing it just to keep the little imperfections from showing up. After all, aluminum will start to oxidize the second it's exposed the air as you would probably know. I'm still learning about tuning and cars in general but machining & engineering is my thing.

I still think that there are some real benefits to steel. You are right about the anodize too. It is very key. I have considered some verious plating processes as well, but the anodize is working well so far.

I know there are some othet good ideas out there. What good are we if we don't make stuff that you want?

Seriously, a good spark plug cover. I know of two right now that are available for the tC. A lot of us have powder coated our valve covers.
