Default From what I've heard

From what I've heard, they went with xA and xB, which I don't think stand for anything, but Volvo makes an XC (cross country) so they couldn't do it. I'm curious if the next model will be an x or a t or what... I think they should have just made them all sA sB sC whatever...

i really cant see the tC as being a replacement for the Celica. IMO... they seem to be in 2 separate classes. I can, however, see Toyota making the next celica more feature rich like the tC... or maybe its wishful thinking.

:D It really doesn't stand for anything other than someone already mentioned Volvo has the XC so Scion couldn't continue the alphabet soup sequence. This car IS in the same class as the Celica. The original celica had some of the same features as this car does. Liftback, folding seats, etc. Now that this car is out I don't see a reason for the Celica's existence.

Actually, early reports I've read officially stated that the tC IS the replacement for the Celica, but not immediately

I'm surprised it hasn't been yet.. this forum seems a little over-moderated.
