i have noticed that when its cold out and when i start my car after its been siting for a good amount of time that it idle's at 2k rpm and then it drops down to 700-900 after a few minutes is that normal? w hat happens to ur cars when its cold

 

Its normal the car just goes into a high idle mode when the outside air temp is cold.

it's not only cars. on bikes, you put the choke on for a few seconds so that it'll idle higher, making the engine warm up a bit quicker.

 

yeah, the car idles at a higher rpm because it can't read cold o2 sensors. it is normal. calm down.

It is 100% normal. Most cars do this, the tC is no exception.

 

Is this your first car? Like everyone has said quite normal for all cars. It idles higher than normal when the engine is temps are cold and settles back under 1000 rpms once warm.
