what kinda bulbs do you have?
Well im looking to upgrade my lights. I really dont want HIDs because of the glare. I know if done coreectly you will have small/no glare but I dont wanna spend more than $100 on lights when I hardly drive at night .I will spend around $50-$60
Im looking for just something that wont put out the ugly orange OEM light. Ive been looking at Silverstars but I dont think I will like em.
Ive seen some Tucan I like but now I cant find anyone who sells em.
Anyone have pics of upgraded lights (non HID)?
thanks

it works great and ive had no problems seeing at night since ive done this. It looks like it adds about 20% more light output. Very bright white.

Well, my choice would be the Sylvania Xtravisions, they ARE brighter, and they are not tinted, so most of the light produced by the filament would end up lighting up the road. There are other bulbs out there like the GE Nighthawk, Philips Vision Plus, which are also similar in performance.
You will only see very limited improvement in performance though, because the housing is what dictates how far the light gets projected. So even if you get HIDs, you will only see better, not further.
hope this helps.

I use silverstar ultras and think it is a huge improvement. People who aren't used to a little classier car always comment that it's like daylight when they get in the car... The BIG problem is the life of the bulb, I swear I only get like 3 months before one of the two low beams burns out. If someone knows of a longer lasting, equal quality bulb, I would love to know!!!
Anyhow, I've tried the GE Nighthawk bulbs too. They last longer, but defintiely have a bit of yellow/golden color and don't seem quite as bright. Still an improvement over stock though.
I've heard good things about PIAA bulbs, but they are expensive. I've also tried the KOITO bulbs from Mcgeorgeparts.com They are about the same color as the silverstars with a little less output. Very nice, but didnt' last as long either. Hope this helps!

Remember this guy doesn't want any modification. I think the 9011 and 9012 bulbs needs a little work to fit right.
I had Silverstar Ultras and they are pretty white and bright. If only Sylvania offers them without that coating, it would be amazingly bright.

Definitely do the 9005 Silverstars conversion. Just buy a soldering iron for $10 and 30 minutes of your time. I've used four different types of headlight bulbs and always came back to 9005 Silverstars. I've tried Nokya Artic Whites (bluish tint was cool, couldn't see crap on black roads or in the rain), Halo brand (sold at dealership for $25 why not. Same as Nokyas, couldn't see crap), and Sylvania Cool Blue 9005 conversion. The best by far is the Silverstars conversion. I also have an upgraded harness just in case it doesn't melt the stock harness but I read that you don't really need one.
Out of curiousity, since the wire harness has a thicker gauge wire does it make the light output from a 9005 bulb less intense as opposed to it being connected to the stock harness directly? I tried taking out my wire harness and putting the 9005 bulb into the stock harness but it was a _____ to even get it in, so I gave up and left it with the upgraded harness. I really just wanted to see if the output is more intense without the upgraded harness.

before i had my HIDs i had 9005 cool blues in my lowbeams and then a pair of ultras in my highs. i love the color from the cool blues more than the ultras. and the normal silverstars seemed too yellow to me :/
