What a rip off.
Let me get this straight, a stock, used tC is going for $22K on that site. Crap if that's the case, I'll buy all of my local dealerships' inventory of tC's and resell'em on that site. $$$$$$$

The Used car business preys on the naive and the uneducated... lots of people will pay 20 grand for a used tC.... sad reality....
I've seen people who paid 28,000 for a new tC... with all kinds of dealer "Modifications"... that should result in the car being around 19000-20000.
Just the nature of the business...

that is so effing ridiculous... but you know what's even more retarded, is that they are obviously selling a lot of used tC's at $20K + .. so that means people are actually PAYING that much for them!!!

don't you realize that a used tC will cost more than a new one? as a new car, Toyota and Scion sets its prices to a remarkable low number for us to purchase... once bought, the value of the car actually stays high and most of the time becomes more expensive as the prices are no longer limited by Toyota or Scion. low mileage vehicle with plenty of options? the dealership or private party now has the option of jacking up the prices to however high they want. it's always been like that.
exactly, the only thing that can stop them is consumers who research and realize that, "hey! buying a NEW Scion is normally cheaper!!"
btw... the prices are set so low by corp. that dealerships barely make any money for each Scion they sell.. (about $500)... they make all their money through adding accessories, which still is only a few hundred more, and by selling in pure numbers.

Actually, dealerships make $100 per scion sale. How I know; my brother in law worked at Vandergriff Toyota in Arlington for about a month as a salesman. Hmm, looks like I can sell my tC and get a truck!
Anyone stupid enough to purchase a year-old car for a price higher than the same car *brand new* deserves to get ripped off. A car's value depreciates like a rock the second you drive it off the lot. If you are willing to drop 20k and not do any research, you are blissfully ignorant anyway. True, dealerships make the most money on high-demand used cars, but you can't tell me the dealership only pockets $100 on a new Scion. They dealer invoice is way below the retail you have to pay for Pure Pricing, plus they get incentives from Toyota. Maybe the salesperson only got $100 and his managers pocketed the rest.
Besides, you can negotiate the price of a used Scion, so they will set the price in the ads slightly higher than what they expect to get for it.

The actual salesman will only get $100. They will get more however when you do trade in ;). Because they will really screw ya with the trade in and sell the car for at least $1k-$2k higher than they paid you.

The real number is somewhere around $800 on a tC but thats before a fun thing called PACK >.< A salesman at my dealer will only make $70 if they sell a Scion with no adds.
I had to PAY to sell a car one time lol, lost the key and had to pay to get a new one.
my friend bought a tC the week it came out a whiles back in Raynham, MA and they chaged her an additional 3K just casue the car was hard to come by.....her non-modded new tC ended up costing 24,800 after everything........sucks
