Okay, help me out here guys. I hate light. Can't stand it. Turn it off. I will be one of those that USE my radio cover to GET RID OF THE LIGHT.

Therefore, is there a way to turn off that light that is constantly on in that storage area on the dash? I am ready to go cover it with some black tape, or unscrew the lightbulb, or something. I mean, granted, it's cool when I wanna get something, like using the dome lights, but not when I'm driving.

Light sucks. BTW. I read the manaul, I didn't see anything. Is this something I just need to take care of myself? Like BREAK it? lol

I know the light you mean, in the dash pocket at the very bottom of the radio column. Did a lot of night driving myself last night.

I think I'll just keep enough something or other in there so that very little light escapes. But yeah, it annoys you when its in the corner of your eye and you keep wondering what it is.

 

I don't really see how that light can bother anybody... I have the interior light kit in my TC and drive with it on all the time and that light in the cubby hole is on, and my radio is on... but I guess I'm just paying attention to the road and not a light in the car

you can just take it out of you want, easy to get to and it just unscrews,

 

i hated that light to .. i just stuffed it with a peice of paper , and it did the job ... i have interior blue lights also. I dont mind them being on. Its just that regular light in the cubbie hole , thats always on.

 

screw that light there is no light in the glovebox that is what ____es me off, maybe they should have taken that bulb and put it in the glovebox instead of the bottom of the dash in the pocket.

Well, glad to hear I'm not the only one. And well, like I said, ANY light on the interior bothers me. And my cars are usually black interior, tinted windows. I just hate light. lol.

Guess I'll either be taping it up, pulling it out, or something. Too bad it didn't have a switch, now that could've been cool. lol. And I agree on the glove compartment.

(btw, why do you think i'm getting the auto-dimming mirror? and tinted windows? and love the cover on the radio? cuz it blocks out ALL the light. =))

 

Wow...I can tune out those lights...doesn't bother me in the slightest.

 

When I push the gas pedal down all the way the stupid car pushes me back into my seat without me asking it to do so. I'm going to have to write Scion about that. ^^

i didnt read the whole thread, but im guessing that the light is the same as the one in the xa; take some matte black spraypaint and darken the pocket door, you'll still have the light when you open the door

 

if the lights bothers you so much dim it, and get a flash light for you glove box, u got the car for 16K, quit crying

 

i like the light. I also have the auto dimming mirrors so the color of the head unit, compartment and light coming down from the mirrors give my car a nice over color. I like it. Maybe im taller than you cause it doesn't flash into my eye. Or do you drive laying down?

i never notice that light at all. the only light that kinda bothers me is the light on the dash when you put on your brights. that blue one, staight on looking at it, it's not that bright, but it's right at the bottom of my eye level, so it gets kinda glarey for me

 

LOL the xA has an easy bake oven in it. I make fun of my friends all the time. Don't flame me either because he pokes just as much fun at his own ride.

 

If you really wanna get rid of it..heres what U do..

Take the bezel around the shifter off..and take the radio column off..disconnect the wire harness on the bottom..feel back behind the cubby hole from the back you'll feel a cord going into it..pull on it you'll see 1 single light bulb that looks like this::



But Clear..Pull it out and store it or throw it away..do what U want..

I personally like it..I did my LEDS in my Panels Red and I ordered a Red one to go in there..But anyways thats how U do it!
