I'm getting $100 for my car (hey it even runs) towards my $21.5K BSP 2006 tc.

You know it's bad when the dealer tries to convince you to just keep your car instead of trading it in. I told him I didn't want to keep adding to the 4 foot oil spot in the driveway

I personally got $5000 for my Pontiac Grand Am 99' GT. It is valued at $4200 trade-in, so i got a really good deal.

 

yea you could probbably sell parts for more than $100

i could have traded my audi and lowered my loan but i kept it, thinking i would get more from a private party. i put an ad in the auto trader. several people responded but then some 20 year old broke kid who appreciated audis saw it and i ended up selling it to him for way less than the dealer would have given because he needed a car and loved the audi.

i could tell he would take care of it and it went to a good home. he has since called me at least twice a week asking how does this work?...what about this, what kind of oil, etc., he babies it worse than i did, so at least i know the next guy isn't gonna mistreat it. strange, how a car becomes like family. i would have rather taken less money than to have given it to someone who wouldn't appreciate the heritage.

(maslow would say that my needs are more than met to consider such folly)

 

$14.4 for my '02 WRX w/ 35k miles. I would have liked more, but around here it's the best I was going to see.

actually it is...kbb high trade value is $14.4k. what people don't realize is i live primarily in domestic hell. not to mention it's a pretty low-class area. a wrx is pretty rare around here. i had a ford dealership offer me $9k. i hung up the phone laughing my butt off.

 

Got 13k for my Mazda3(13k miles), then 14k for my manual tc(3.5k miles) (Ped. spoiler, Fog lights, scotch tape). I think I got ripped off from my tC trade.. -_-

 

yeah, i think u did get taken on the tc. there is no trade value for tc's yet. i see used going for quite a bit still. i paid $15.9k for my used tc and i was told by other scion dealers that i got it for a good price. i don't think i got a great deal on the tc, but i got a better deal on my wrx than anywhere else.

 

$2700 for my 01 chevy cavalier. Sucks cuz I still owed $2900 on it.

 

dealership wouldn't take my trade in, because of rebuilt salvage title on it...

$300 offered trade in for my '93 Escort Wagon. It died and wouldn't start again when it got to the dealer.

The dealer tried to shnooker me into some over-priced rims so he blew the deal. I ended up getting $200 from a salvage yard that towed it from the dealer lot. 170K miles on that thing. It was its time.
