Probably former Honda owners...

I kid... I kid.

Some people are just _______s in general. And unfortunately some of those people buy tCs. They've always been out there, you're just seeing more of them now since it's been around a little longer.

I dont know... here people just figure you are another person in a car and dont respond either way. Nor do I. If someone waves, I will wave back, but I in no way feel I am someones "friend" because they drive a car like mine... it is just a car. I will look at another tC, and if we are parked next to each other may spark up a conversation, but oterh than that it is just another car with a stranger in it.

But I am also not rude (I try to be friendly to people in general, not because of the car they drive) ... where I come from flipping someone off is followed by getting your a$$ stomped :D

About the ricer kiddies that try to race.... I DO flip them off There is nothing better than having some zit faced kiddie in his ricemobile next to you at a light... his fangirl in the seat next to him... revving the engine at you.... then turn, give him a big laugh and flip him off 99% of them are punk ***** anyway afraid to do anything about it.. .which makes thier fangirl laugh a them too (if she is smart enough to know what just happened that is). Now if they start the weaving in and out of traffic and put me in danger stuff... the story is a LOT different.

I HATE ricer kids. Think they know how to drive (they dont), think they have a fast car (Sorry, but a 14 sec honda is not even in the realm of fast) and think that endangering innocent bystanders is cool.

Just remember, 90% of owners are not car enthusiasts and pay no more attention to the fact that you drive a scion as they would if you were in any other car. An enthusiast will notice and probably respond, but 90% of tC's I see are bone stock, and 99% of other scions I see are driven by older people.

I'm in your area (Beaverton/Tigard) and I don't wave to other tC drivers. There's too many around now that I don't even notice anymore. I'm definitely not flipping anyone off though, and I'm still a curtious driver to most people.

But I do agree there are plenty of ricers wanting to race, and my tC is almost stock. On the way to the coast a few weekends ago, another tC was passing me like an @ss on highway 101, then would slow down for me to pass on the passing lane, then tail me and pass again. I don't get it but it definitely gets old after a while.

Hehe, I actually had a nice conversation with a guy in a Dodge Charger today. He blew my doors off, but he was cool about it, if that makes any sense. Hey, where are you going to school in Eugene? UofO or EBC?

I wave constantly. Or at least give a look to see if they are waiving...

But most xb's dont give love to the tc's, hardly see any xa's here in so cal (if you do its a mid-aged lady most of the time) and the tc crowd is a lot of girls driving who dont know about the culture. So I dont get mad when nobody waves, Im just extremely elated when someone does...

Hmm, same thing seems to be happening with motorcycle riders in my area also. Few years ago most people you wave to would wave back, except harley riders But now its hard to get anyone to wave back

Well I tell you what, from Co to Ca on my 2 day roadtrip I saw a few, most in passing the opposite direction a few I passed.... no waves.

Now I'm out here in Ca working (Sac area), see a tC now and then to and from work.... no waves, no nods, no smiles..

In Co I'd get about 50/50 on the waves but that's b/c I think I was seeing some of the same ones on my way to and from work and they got the point .... who knows

For the bike, here in hawaii you wave, 99% of people will wave back. Riders on hawaii are close knit reguardless of bike (but theres still the sport/cruiser sides)

As for tC saying whats up. Fat chance. The only time i get that is from members of Scion Evolution, or new members coming in with their tC's. SE members give a whats up to ya, everyone else... fat chance.

Nothings happened, its just having a tC dosent mean the community of being in a club or riding a bike.

I just got back from my vacation to the Napa Valley (wine country) and I got more 'peace signs' on the freeway than I do here in town. Most of the peeps were rubber neckin' to check out the ride as we passed each other or passed each other in the opposite direction. It's nice to know that my hard work modding the tC has paid off.

Here in town there is no love. 'Kids' want to race me all the time. 1st Gen xBs show no love. There is 1 kind-of-tricked-out xA that does show me love but all the others-zero. Almost all tC drivers show no love and the ones that do have the same (or almost the same) color as me.

I believe its because I have a fixed up ride that I'm catagorized as a 'racer'. Although my tC may look and sound fast, it's not. (I mean that in a good way.) Not that I care or anything. I like my tC and that's all that matters to me.

I hear that. I see a whole bunch of attractive women driving tCs around here and I wave (partly due the car they're in, partly due to the attractiveness of the drivers ).
I more often than not get ignored and a few have even given me a dirty look and rolled up their windows.

Maybe I just like some creepy stalker guy or something....

geez, it's been this way in Chicago since the Scion's were available for sale. when was it, 2005? Everyone has their poker face on here. I don't even bother anymore.

edit: I should add that when I was staying in San Diego, yeah everyone is checkin each other out at the stoplights or driving along. Came back home and people wanted to throw down. I had to break that habit fast!!

I know when I first got the my car people were friendly from all sides. People stopping at work, or the gas station, you know asking questions. Now, all I see are cars with dealer plates and temp plates driving around like they are the only ones with a tC on the road.

I chalk it up to just more and more people buying the car. Less and less of them want a community and more and more of them want a cool car... can't see why they can't have both...!
