Default Whats with the tC...

and people wanting to race you?

LOL Mines not even modded yet and I've already had a few people try racing me.. They're not even smart, and they'll pull up to me on the wrong side of the residential roads to try to do it. Of course, that's just stupid, so I would never do it in that type of area.

Sigh

Anyone else experience this?

Mine is lightly modded and looks DECENT on the outside, w/ minor mods performance wise (pulley, intake, header, full exhaust w/ one resonator, engine dampner, etc)

Plus the wheels, slotted rotors, VRD fogs, what have you. It's a magnet for other modded cars to go after. Unfortunately, the only cars who try to mess with me are of a class out of ours. G35, a boosted Z once, numerous light modded Z's, STi's, Evo's, etc.

STi couldn't wait to get around me like a kid on christmas eve. He played with me in one lane traffic, as soon as it opened up he darted around me and started carving in and out everywhere.

I raced a girl in a 350Z Nismo'd out, and she couldn't launch for crap. I whipped on her to about 60, then she passed me like I was a fat kid on a bicycle. Ohwell.

Long story short, you think it's bad now wait till it's modded, lol

Not really..... but then again mine is stock and it's just a DD.

T-S, no offense but not sure I would be able to follow you on this one. I love my tC for the fact it was an uber affordable car with good gas mileage, that was not boring or hideous aesthetically..... however if I didn't have one Im not sure I would feel like I am missing anything.

i guess each person's experience is different.
from my experience, kids at my school with cavaliers and riced out civics always check out my car, but then do ricer fly-bys and talk stuff on my car. but ive never actually raced them. gas is TOO much to put it to the ground.

Hahah try this one out...it was a first

I went to a local AAA baseball game and I had a parking pass and got a spot at the front of the parking garage right at the exit. Well I went with my parents and a couple of friends that we met up with there. They all wanted to see my car after the game so we went to the parking garage and I was showing them my car along with showing them my newly installed lambo doors. A guy in his 20's with two of his friend drives by in a 4 door chevy cobalt and flipped me off. I was laughing so hard at the guy and that was a first for me haha.

Just thought I would share my good laugh

ive had it happen to me 2 times..and both were 2 stock tC's..i guess they saw my exhaust or somthing and tried to go side by side to me and stuff -_-
when i see them i just ignore them, then they just go away swerving into traffic lol.

also if i see any z's, evos, sti's, or stuff like that they usually just try to show off by revving then do a fly by then stop..kinda looks stupid

I would have to agree with you. In fact if i had to do it all over again i would not have gotten a tC .. or if i could do it right now without loosing any money i would do it faster then ferrari does 0-60 !

And main reasons are: I F***ing hate those sunroof creacks and cracks ! It just ____es me off sometimes soooo much i just want stop take a bat and brake the whole ____ ! So at least now it would have a reason to make noises...

and number 2 but really minor compared #1 is its a FWD.

just my .02

they are called ricer kids I rarely have that happen to me.. but it seems (Even though there are car enthusiasts EVERYwhere up here) we have fewer ricers running around thinking they are bad@$$es here. St Paul has its share, but not nearly as bad as some places.

And Russ... I havent forgotten about you. I am travelling this week, then on vacation the next, then travelling again, so I will make time to work on your led swaps soon! And if you lived here I would fix your sunroof creaks in about 30 minutes Mine started it a while back and I fixed it pretty quickly. See my post on various sunroof fixes for info.

I have the opposite. Mine is slightly modded and there was only one instance where an accord w/ 4 teenagers tried to race me. I guess it depends on the area. Where I live the roads are mainly one lane going each way so there really isn't much opportunity unless it's on the highway. Also the roads are pretty crappy and filled with potholes so that has something to do with it also. I'm kind of glad about it though. The temptation isn't really there so I know I won't get in trouble for street racing.
