Default Wheel alignment and soft brakes

1. My car pulls to the left when I have the steering wheel straight.
2. When breaking, i feel it takes more time than its supposed to, to stop the car.

I just painted my calipers last weekend. I did not notice, or did not pay attention to these 2 actions before. Could that have caused a problem. Have fixed an appointment with the dealership for next week. Please provide some insights as to what might be wrong.

Thanks a million.

Check your tire pressures and wheel lug torque. If you got any paint or anything else on the brake rotor you might want to clean it with some brake cleaner.

It's "braking", not "breaking".

Ummmmmmmm.....my guess it maybe when you put the wheels back on the tires got out of balance making it pull to the left.
As for the brakes....dont think anything would effect it honestly...if you got paint on the disk's it would just come off the next time you stopped. I bet you are noticing it more now because you know you paint the brake calipers...so your brain is thinking ya jacked um up or something.
But if you want take it to the dealer...just be expected that they might charge you for it since they will try and blame it on you since you painted the calipers. But ya never know they might just rotate and balance the tires and check it out for free.

Thanks guys. I will try cleaning the rotors with brake cleaner. I put it on the disk and let it dry and brush it off rite? How do I do it.?

I will also check the lug nuts. That was my initial thought.

Appreciate your inputs. Keep it coming. Thanks.

Ummmm read the directions on the can for the brake cleaner...you have to be careful with that stuff. I think it says NOT to spray it on rubber brake parts. So read the directions.

Its not a spray paint. Its paint in a small can with a brush. I did not paint anything past what you see, sealed of the other areas. I was careful to prevent something like this. Also as someone mentioned, it would burn off if it got on the rotors rite?
I am gonna remove the wheels and put them on carefully.

Thanks people. Please continue with your suggestions.

An out of balance tire will not cause the alignment and brakes to be out. Take everything apart and make sure you didnt damage the brake parts.... how hard does it pull? For example, if you are running 30mph and let go of the wheel, how fast does it reach the line? Also, does it pull (meaning if you let go of the wheel, it pulls to one side) or is the steering wheel out of alignment (I know some of the tCs may have come out with the wheel out of alignment... it will still drive straight if you let go... but the wheel is off) ? If you are not sure if you noticed it before that may be the issue. Send more info and maybe we can point you in the right direction (no pun intended )

I removed the wheels and put them back on. It "looks" to be fine now. I dont know what was wrong. Took it to Boston for the weekend and I didnt notice any problems. THanks for the inputs guys... that helped me a lot.

Funny you mentioned this... I've noticed since I painted my calipers that the brake is not mushy.. per say... but i feel like I have to press it further when I'm going fast to get a decent stop.

I checked my wheels, pressure, etc... no problems. I'll mention it when I bring it in for my remaining parts.
