Wheel locks rusting
Did a quick search and didn't see anything about this so sue me if there is a thread from forever ago about it.
Anyways I was washing my car today and noticed that all of my wheel locks are rusting. They are the ones from the dealer. My car is only 14 months old and I keep it clean. Anyone else have this problem?

snow + salty roads + metal = rust
i dont like wheel locks. ive broken the key too many times and had to spend some money on deep 12pt sockets to hammer onto the locks to get them off. And those sockets arent cheap. Good thing i bought craftsman so i could exchange the socket for a new one.

yeah but aren't they supposed to be stainless or chrome? I know that doesn't make them impervious to rust but it should take a lot longer then a year to do so.
maybe I will see if I can get something else to replace them from the dealer.

They are made out of the same coating as lug nuts, and they don't rust.
Mine haven't rusted and its gone through mi salt fest winters a couple times now.
You must have gotten a bad batch.
