Default Where to start?

I'm new to the site and need your help, so here's some info. I have an '06 5-speed with a few OEM mods, but the only ones worth mentioning are the OEM fogs and TRD exhaust. I'm in the process of upgrading to the 2008+ headlights with HIDs.

Since I'm making my last payment on Monday, I'm thinking about putting some more money into it for performance mods. I don't know much at all about them, so I'd like to get your input on what steps I should do first. What's the most bang for your buck? Thanks for your help!

Honestly there isnt much HP these cars can make unless you rebuild the motor and tranny, and turbo it and tune it very well, then your talking about some Power. Even then its not uch unless you are rich and can afford every bolt on and a big turbo setup. How many miles does it have on it?

Well what are your intentions for it?..Are you going to keep it and see how long it can run till it dies one day?..or mod it, and trade it in or what?

And what color is it?

I'll get a new car eventually, but I don't plan on trading my tC in so I'll keep it for modding.

It's bsp.

ok, Well try getting a nice set of wheels and tires. Sound System, Engine Bay Complete dress up kit, meaning everything gets replaced with shiny or color coordinated accessories. Suspension overhaul, such as Coilovers or lowering springs, whatever your budget might be. Sway bars, strut brace tower bars. Big brake kit, theres endless possibilities, just need to know what you like in todays society and go from there. If you like the JDM honda look with the bike racks and yellow fogs, and pink or funky colored wheels, then go for it. If your more euro and hellaflush equipped then get low offset wheels and strech your tires and get lowered with some Coilovers. Endless Options and setups to go with.

yeah skittle wrapped it up really well on the most common bolt on mods but for power you have to boost it..not other way.

I probably won't boost it because I'm not going to drop crazy money on a FWD. But, I do like the wheel and suspension mods.

New wheels sound like my next step. I like the Konig black feathers.

If you want a lot of power but still retain it being a DD (DD=Daily Driver), try buying a newer Lexus IS250, or EVO8 or EVO9 or STi tuned or something with more potential. Because honestly I don't think Toyota/Scion has Power intentions for these cars. They were aimed at Young people in need of something with style and flare with low budgets wanting to retain reliability and comfort in mind. If you want power and torque and have lots of money to spare, Porsche, Ferrari, the New Corvette ZR1, or maybe the Viper SRT10. Those are the cars that will make you s**t your pants straight from the factory LMAO!!

Ok so you like the stealth look. Should maybe try a pair of 18's being that your most likely on stockies right now. Try a next size up and get lowered, and redo some bushings nder the car, and maybe add some sway bars and strut bars, and it will stiffen up your handling, and also lower the center point of gravity giving it a more sportier handle and appearance. Also have you tried adding solid poly bushings for your shifter? and getting a short shifter kit? It will give you a whole other look and feel when shifting. Trust me bro!! Talk about money worth the investment!

The short shifters are pretty cheap. I found a Megan Racing short shifter for only $55.

I need to get a new shifter **** too since I got the metal **** with the car and it gets hot as **** in the Florida sun.

i agree with the comments about power. its really not worth the money to dump tons of money into our engines

the tc is a great little car dressed up with some mods. If you want something more buy something abit older as a project

That's true, but most people aren't willing to drop the cash to get it as fast as another RWD car. No offense, I love my tC, but I don't think it will ever be as fast as a similarly priced and modded RWD.

scion isnt meant for performance, there meant for show and making it your personal whip, basic bolts on wont do much but change the tone of the car, turbo will help but not meant for the car, meanning a couple of thousandths of dollars 8 lbs of boost for DD for like 250-280 whp is ok,
