Who else got the tC all hidden for winter already?
I washed mine real good, then waxed it with Nu Polish (orange bottle). I guess its a polish, not a wax? Suppose to be good. Then I put the car cover on it. I was just cleaning it up and test fitting the new cover I got, and in the meantime the weather has been completely cold and rainy. I havent drove it in like a week. I got the stock wheels on it too...
Once we get a nice day, gonna fill up the tank and put some stabil in it...
The fun part about storing the car is after driving a 92 accord around all winter, getting back in the tC feels like getting in it again for the first time! And hopefully onec winter is gone I will have a header and supercharger put on, and maybe full exhaust setup too!
I cant wait for winter to come and go! Its also cool cause not driving it in the winter keeps your mileage down. Mines at 11,xxx now...sure its lower than some 05 tCs tho!

Thats good that your storing it. Keeps it newer for longer. I wish I had another car to use in the Winter but I only have my tC
So Illinois winter here we come! Its gonna be a beotch to try to keep the salt off and driving in the snow...
yea. My goal is to let it never see a winter. I know our ohio weather / salty roads / potholes take there toll on cars. If I can always baby it, that will rule. Sucky part about having a daily driver / beater is they usually like to have parts die on them, and end up costing more $...but at least can replace with junkyard or autozone parts...and its so fun to go from babying your car and hating when it rains because u just washed it...to going to washing it hardly at all, just have to because your windows are so dirty and u have to wash it, and not worrying about every pothole or dip! You may get lucky and come across a older car for cheap that runs good....later!
I got the undercoat protection and exterior protection on my car when I bought it. I am also trying to track down some stock rims so that I don't beat up my Enkei's by sliding into the curbs on slick roads. I used to love winter. Then I got my motorcycle and now my new car. I hate winter.
It's a SCION TC not a Ferrari. Drive it like a normal person.
If you want a car to treat as something special buy something special liek an older muscle car, porsche, ect... not a damn SCION.
I know I'll be driving mine. Unless your SCION runs 11's, or has enough ricer mods to call it "show car" aka RICE car then get some blizzacks rust treatment and run that _____ through the snow like any other 17K car should be.

Doesnt matter if it is a kia or a porche, there is no need to drive your new car in the winter (aka, one that you still OWE MONEY ON) when you have another one to drive. That is called smart on your investment, has nothing to do with what car it is.
Mine only saw snow twice last winter because I wanted to see how it did , potenzas and all in the snow, and it actually did pretty good if you know how to drive on snow. I have a 96 saturn (paid for, never breaks down and has an ABS plastic body... perfect snow car) that I drove all winter and left parked outside. However, my fiances cavalier blew the engine (big suprise) recently so she is driving the saturn untill early next year, so I will be driving the tC every day. The other downfall is that the saturn gets WAY better mileage than the tC, so it was nice to have it to drive around as well.
But, just keep it washed often, it will be ok. You arent going to hurt it unless it gets in an accident

I have an 05 tC with only 7,800 miles on it, and it turned 1yr old sunday.
I made sure to give my tC a good coat of polish and wax but i clayed it first. California's winter isn't that bad depending on where you live. But it's been in one winter already since it was the begining of winter when i purchased my tC last year.

A dealer or potential buyer could give two ____s less wether or not the car was ever driven in snow. When you go to trade the car in at the dealer. They won't be like; "WOW you never drove this in the snow and garged it all winter, let me get you another 1000 bux for it." NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. The only benifit is that you will be getting less miles which will help retain some value of the car. This isn't a potenial "classic" car that in 45 years some how will end up on Barret Jacksons car auction. It's a mid-entry car, not a sports car, specialty vehicle or anything. It's just like a Cavalier but with better quality and more power. SAME CLASS.
Now I see the point of driving a car when it's actually snows/salty to keep the scion clean, but garaging it for ALL winter it dumb. You bought it to drive it right? If you didn't want to drive it or want a new car you would have stuck with said saturn.
I love my TC and will do everything I can to keep from driving it when it is snowing or salty out. But it's not something that will concern me if I have to. I paid 17K for it and in 5-6 years I will no longer own it, as MUCH cooler cars will be out.

Here is another thought and something I just recently learned. I am insured through AAA and have my 96 saturn and my tC on the policy. After my fiances car died I simply put her as the drivre on my saturn. This increased the insurance on it by about $50/6 mo, and increased the insurance on the tC by $600!!!! Why, you ask? Me too... so I called AAA. They gave me a rundown on how insurance is typically calculated. They rate your full coverage off of the CHEAPEST car on the policy. So my full coverage rate was originally based off of my saturn, as they considered it the primary car for me. (Dumb for them.. but this is how it is done). Keep in mind that I dont even carry full coverage on the saturn... but they still rate off of it. So, when she became the primary driver of it, I became the primary driver of the tC, so my rate sky rocketed! I have asked progressive and geico the same thing and recieved the same answer. They literally told me I would be better off buying another $1000 car and putting it as my primary vehicle!!!!!! Stupidest thing... but that is the case. So the second "beater" car is not such a bad idea either in that sense..... a little off topic, but I thought it was a little relavent and may interest some.
for me its about keeping the car in good condition for my own personal preference. I myself dont want to have a car in 5 years that has rusted out body panels. I will probably have the car for its whole life of the car. This car will probably eventually become my daily car and i want it in good shape. I doubt I'll be selling it...i will end up getting another new car, and it will be the new daily down the road.
Another thing is winter = horrible drivers become even worse. If some kind of wreck/fender bender is going to happen due to weather conditions/bad drivers/personal error, I'd rather have it be my 92 accord than my new car...
Not sure if you live where there is horrible weather like here in North Eastern Ohio, but its not fun...

SoCal, represent! But hey, it does get gold here in the winter, dammit! We may only average 16 inches of rain a year, but it's been known to get into the low 40s!
So youse guys may have lower mileage after the winter, but we haven't frozen our teats off.
