I raced one and i beat him by a couple car lengths i know he had exhaust and i beleive he had an intake but i got the jump on him right from the start and he never could catch me!

my friend was not very happy with his rsx-s and said my car felt faster than his

i second that bs. either your friend doesnt know how to drive or he has a base rsx. tc with a supercharger would be a better match.

even a bad driver in a rsx-s should beat a good driver in a tC.

On paper the RSX-S will win, for the same reasons stated above but driver skill is always a factor. Now a blown tC vs a type S HMMM?

a bad driver in a rsx s could lose to a tc any day. but heck, hed have to peel out for a long time, then miss 2nd gear and then some. what id like to see is some auto tc (like mine) beat some manual tcs

now thats a topic. I would figure even with the extra weight, a blown tc producing similar hp numbers to an RSX-S would beat it based on the tC would have much more torque.

The post topic says S-type but the first post does not specify S or regular. Depends on that as well as if the other guy knows how to drive.

TC v/ S-type with good drivers in both, we would get smoked.

more power+lighter car=smoked

sorry. Against a standard RSX we would win IMO. I drove both and played around against one before and I think that actual race we would win easy.

like i said i got the jump on him right from the start i didnt say it was a fair race or even a legal race at the strip, he did peel out and i consider myself good with a stick, i also got the best clutch/ gas "combo" ive ever done in my tC and when we got to the next light i was in front, i am not implying that are cars are faster than the type s, but with a good start a good driver (and a bad driver in the rsx-s) and quick shifting our cars can hang on!

also my friends car was not a type s it was a 2002 rsx.
i should have stated that but i wasnt thinking

Are we talking about the NEW Type-S with 210hp or the older 200hp model???

I still say its a drivers race. I think that the torque that the tC makes would launch the car off the line. Again if the tC owner knows how to drive the car and use the power and torque these cars make it would be a close race.

i recall my bs since your friends car was a base rsx. you can beat him silly if you are a better driver.

why does everyone want to factor in the skill of the drivers involved? :? Do you also want to factor in the kind of tires, whether driver "a" has a full tank of gas vs. 1/4 tank.....? If you want to find the purely objective answer, do what trafficinla did= go to car and driver, or consumer reports, or something. Otherwise, you could waste your whole day on variables that you can't really control. Change one thing and there could be a big difference.

Who would win this race?: a 2005 5-speed xb with the spare tire removed, 1/2 tank of Quicktrip's finest, debadged, and car seat behind the driver VS. a 1992 nissan p/u 5-spd, almost out of gas, with 187K on the odometer. Oh, the truck also has a k+n air filter and a fresh tune-up. I think if the guy driving the nissan had a good amount of experience, he'll smoke the xb.

Oh, almost forgot..the nissan is a 2-wheel drive, four cylinder with road huggers. The xb has the factory tires.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. :D

type s...i think not. a base rsx would be a different story, but no way you could beat a type s.

The RSX-S info from C&D are for the new 210hp 2005 RSX. I didn't see any 1/4 mile numbers for the base model.
