Default Who's running bottomless?

Under-cover/brush gaurd ended its life on the highway today and I was curious if anyone else runs with no under cover..?

About 100 bucks or so to replace which is why I'm wondering if I can get away without having an undercover.
Since the oil filter and what not is exposed it made me worry a bit.

the oil filter was always exposed.. the guard never really covered it... people change the oil filter and oil fine without removing that plastic splash guard.
it'll affect aero slightly.. but nothing much else that i know of..

i've seen people not have it.. and those with a body kit don't either..

hmm.. now the question more curious would be.. who's running topless?

Yea when i was changing my headlights I didn't wanna deal with the hassle of putting those splash guards back in, I've been riding for a while without them, just have to make sure I clean my Fujita CAI more frequently.

Aside from an exponential increase in engine bay dirt, the risk is negligible.

Rocks hitting AC lines, dirt, gravel, etc getting in the pulley and belts, overall dirty engine bay. More salt spraying up on metal parts in the engine bay if you live in areas that get snow a lot, etc.

No, I would not keep running without one personally. I have had cars without them, and just the nastiness under the hood was enough to make me wish I had the splashgaurds.

You can probably get one out of salvage cheaper I would think.

you know whats sad? I didn't think about that till now, the fact that when vin diesel gets in, there is a new diamond plate there.

I was thinking about removing mine. Is it easy to do yourself? Can I just jack the car up and remove it or do I actually NEED a lift?

When i was installing my turbo, i had to cut some pieces off of it so the pipes for the intercooler fit. I would keep it on, make it look stock, and so nothing bad can happen

Yeah, I'm gonna be searching for a new splash guard...I feel naked without it, hah.
All the junkyards around here usually contain Hondas...and that's about it.
Thanx for the info everyone!

Running without the under cover isn't that big of a deal. It'll effect the cooling a little bit, but it's not that big of a deal.
