I really don't understand this. Today at work one of my friends was like "Yo gas is on the rise. That's gona kill you running that V6" and he was dead serious too. I was like " It's not a V6 it's a Straight 4". "Oh. that sounds kinda weak for a RWD". "It's 161 hp fwd...". "Oh...". I get it at school too. Why do people think our cars are more then they are? I mean It's not bad, I don't mind people thinking I drive a RWD V6 but why do people think it's more then it actually is?

lol havn't had that problem yet. most my friends know about a tC and the people at my college one out of 10 have a tC (which makes me angry that our car isn't original anymore)

 

because, and this is a shocker now, people are ignorant and judge a book by its cover! and the tc is deliberately designed to have a sort of sporty aggressivness to it.

 

I think fwd is better than rwd, its safer in the winter. The car does look a little faster than it is, but none the less its got some pick up.

 

^^ Thats about the only reason it is better other than the fact you can run a smaller eco motor and still move the car alright with FWD.

 

partly b/c of how Scion markets their cars, partly b/c of how some tC owners think their car rules the road, and partly b/c some ppl are just not educated.

 

yeah i agree, people do percieve the car to be a little better than it is, but its still not slow.

 

i guess it is all my fault. whenever people see me in my car, i am either flying by them, or getting a speeding ticket. i'm sorry hans, will you forgive me?

 

My buddy thought it was in the factory turbocharged 4cyl. AWD group of cars (EVO etc.)
So far everybody else who doesn't know the facts thinks it is a v6 because I romped on a redneck in a Mustang.

 

some of my friends thought i drove a 25-30k car when no one knew what a scion was.

 

a handful of people I knew thought it was rwd... ...

yeah, people must think our cars are fast or something. i was headed to school earlier today and a fixed up SRT-4 tried racing me!! and the thing was that there was hella traffic in front of us and it was a city street in the milddle of the day.

 

wow...that thread is hilarious...i mean i upgraded from a 05 honda civic 5speed to the tC 5speed, yea thank you toyota for keeping the hp and trq very close in numbers...the tC isnt super fast but for $17,000 brand new its pretty quick, plus ive lost count how many turbo kits are out for it? so the option is always there to make it faster, which is what im doing once i get the $$$

just my opinion, i think our cars are slow because i have downgraded from a mr2 turbo to a tC...our car really doesn't move at all when you got 4 people in there!

 

But you can fit 4 people in a tC without a shoe horn to do it... and have some features to go with it So not really a complete downgrade from all aspects.

But the mr-s would be nice for autox
