why does xB have traction and vsc but the tC doesn't?
i'm just wondering, why would they give the xB traction control and vehicle stability control standard, and not even offer it on the tC?
even the rs 1.0 xA had some kind of traction control i think....
i don't know, it seems like the tC is the king of the pack, but it;s lacking this major feature

car manufacturers traction control systems just use the brakes or back off on the throttle to control the traction of the vehicle. now this makes sense for someone who will never open it up and have a little fun with their car. it would make more sense for most of us to get a better limited slip differential. Phantom Grip makes one for the tC now and i just emailed Quaife and they say they will prolly have one soon because the tC's differential is very similar to the MR-2 which they already produce.
My RS1 xA has the traction control and VSC, with a switch to disable the traction control. Not everyone out there buys a tC to race, but it would be a nice option to disable the features whenever you want to race if they added those control systems to the tC.
the xB has VSC on it because its higher than regular sedan center of gravity. TRAC was included because they don't include one without the other. the xA RS 1.0 got VSC because of its included sunroof. when they were first released the designers did not want to include a sunroof because they were unsure about adding the weight to the roof. so they got over it by adding VSC. it indirectly keeps you from tipping over(to a degree).
why not on the tC? because then you wouldn't have the beautiful price tag of 16,585. it would cost you a grand more at least.

it would just be so nice to have some type of traction control or limited slip diff, especially here in the winter. i dug my car out yesterday, took me an hour to do it by myself. it wasn't even in that much snow, it was just at a weird angle. or course the tire that needed to spin wouldn't...and that tire that had no resistance was spinning like crazy. from a design standpoint, the way the differential is setup isn't right...
oh yeah, it scared the crap out of me when i tried to reverse the car, i drive a 5 speed. the reverse is loud, like a whining noise, but when you have no traction, it's at full speed almost instantly, so there was this loud squeel/whine whenever i would put it in reverse, first time it happened, i though i stripped the gear, ha!

Very interesting knowledge.
Thank you.

Avensis in disguise vs. Echo Verso in disguise, just to be accurate.
Nothing wrong with either. I wish we got the ligher, more nimble Avensis here instead of the big honkin' Camry.
I wouldn't mind having an Avensis Verso, personally. It would be a more nimble and fuel efficient alternative for the Highlander for people who really do not need an SUV in any shape or form.

But back to the subject at hand. I'd rather see the tC offered with an LSD than TRAC. It would be more appropriate for a sporty car. Nissan gives Sentra SE-R an LSD. Dodge includes one standard with the Neon SRT-4. I'm not sure what Toyota's aversion to LSD's is. AFAIK you can't even get one with their 4WD vehicles, only a locking diff (which is more effective, but can only be used in extreme circumstances)
