Default Why should I get Scion tC?

Okay, so my 2004 Mazda3 HB with many many mods has just decided it needs a new engine. Soooo... I'm gonna get it fixed and then trade it in on a new car.

What I wanna know, is why I should get the tC? Whats your opinions on the 3 versus the tC? Exclude appearance as a reason. I wanna hear about handling, acceleration, mileage, etc etc

PS. DAVE! If you're here, hit me up. Its Kevin hahaha

Yeah sorry LMAO....There pretty good with MPGs, filled up my gfs monday, and didnt have to fill it up again till the following wednesday. And it was at 1/4 when being filled up as well. Its all in the way you drive when saving gas. Mods are pretty cheap, and there are endless possibilities when modding a TC, but they are not meant for high HP though bro. If ya want a ton of power dont get one, its power it perfect for the DDand going on long trips as well LAMO

nah, I'm not looking for a ton of power. Just something to tithe me over till I get outta pharm school. I just want to be sure I'm not downgrading from my 3. From everything I've heard, the 3 as better handling stock. (Mine was dropped with Koni Yellows and upgraded RSB) but yeah. I'm really hoping the tC is gonna be a little quicker than the 3. any ideas about that? I'd be getting one with a 5spd mani

hmm Well I have never driven a Mazda of any sort, well except a Mazda Protege turboed, but it was slow compared to the TC, but its suspension is pretty good, but any car can be improved with a little bit of modding. IDK about mazdas sorry

my opinion... it's a nice car. Looks sporty. Can definitely get that real clean look that turns heads. Girls like them. It can be made fast. But in my own opinion, I have no need for a car that is over 300 horse because I'm in downtown cleveland right now. Speed limit is like 35. I go nowhere.

Would I like a car over 300 hp right now? yes... do I need one? no.

Girls do like them though... which is nice.

I took my tC over the mazda3 just cause the tC is cheaper. I got tuition to pay so whatever was cheapest was def. my choice.

IMO the tc is a mazda3 with 2 doors. There are other differences like auto up down windows, panorama roof, reliability, and a easily replaceable radio.

Truth be told most here would have picked another car, BUT we picked the car with the most options for the best price. You just are going to be hard pressed to find a car like the tC in it's price range. It is also a very nice looking car, imo.

If you show the car it is a whole new story. The people you will meet in Scion clubs are awesome.

I enjoy my tc! Very nice trunk space especially when you fold the seat down. Just took my new bumper to a shop to get it painted. When I got my tc it felt "quick" cuz of the torque that lil car has. Gas mileage is ok. Not that great for a 4 banger but certainly not that horrible. The stereo is decent. Overall its a very affordable daily driver.

I HATE driving downtown cleveland! But then again I don't really know where I'm going. You live in Houston too? I lived down there for a little bit and moved back here lol

I would say no comparison, tC hands down...unless its the mazdaspeed3. I have friends with 3's and the speed3's and the tC is quicker, cheaper, more reliable, cheaper/easier to mod, and gets better gas milage than a regular 3. Speed3 is a whole 'nother ball game tho, those can be made freakin' fast.

Guys, he mentioned he has a Hatchback so arnt those all 2.3 liters back then? Some of you might be confusing it with the sedan. One thing I liked about the HB was the way it shifts into gears, i felt it was much smoother and cleaner compared to a stock manual tc. Just trying to give the mazda some points haha

Woops missed the HB part. But I did like how smooth it shifts. Its alot easier to drive then the tc, I thought. I stalled out a couple times and I didn't on the 3.
