The tC really holds their value. I bought an RS 2.0 about 6 weeks ago. Since then, I've put on about 1,300 miles. I went to KBB.com and checked a retail price for a used one. I chose what applied to it:
Release Series
Special edition
Premium sound
Leather/Suede seats
F&R side airbags

and to my surprise, the retail for a used one is:

$26,385

No

You should sell the RS 2.0, make some profit. Buy another tC and there you go, free upgrades =D

That's an idea. But I do love this one. Where I live, So Cali, there are alot of tC's and I'm glad that the color I got isn't that common. During the past 6 weeks I've had it, I've only seen 1 other one.

I was actually deciding between the RS and a regular one with upgrades. The RS comes standard with the suede seats, iPod XM radio, F&R curtain airbags, sub woofer and the kick ___ color, all for $18,880.

My other choice was a blue regular tC but I was thinking of adding a ground effects, pedestal spoiler and the iPod radio. But I just had to have the Blue Blitz Mica and the seats. I love the seats.

If Toyota could improve on the tC, I would say the gears. They're TOO LOW. They need a 6th gear or make the final drive taller. I'm buzzing at 3,700rpm going 80mph in the freeway. My wife with her 4 cyl Solara is humming at 3,000rpm at 80 in the freeway. I'm getting like 22mpg on my tC while she gets about 25mpg with a HEAVIER car.

You guys make good points.......If people actually bought cars at KBB. NOBODY BUYS CARS AT KBB VALUE!

Not even carmax can sell their car at kbb price, thats why they now sell about $800 under kbb and they are a dealer.

I think you all are forgetting that the tC base price already has the haggling built into it...

Essentially, you're getting the car for perhaps $2000 less than what would be a retail price... $18,500.

When you look at a Honda or a Ford or whatever, you see their retail prices referred to all the time... who the hell actually walks out the door and pays that? Probably no one!

So it's kind of the opposite with a Scion, everyone pays that price... but if you account for the fact that the car would sell for more if they allowed haggling, then the resale value of a used car should make perfect sense.
