Default Will an RS carry more value??

Just a random question that popped up in my head, will the RS have a better value later in the years since its limited edition?

I know the RS are worth more at the dealer since it comes with extra stuff, but i mean overall will its price not drop as much as a regular scion, lets say in about 5-8 years from now, if kept in a good condition?

I don't think it's really much more in used condition. Basically because the market looking for tc's for the most part don't care that their limited edition, their just another different color.

In 8 years your tc is going to be worth 6 or 7 grand in tip top shape unless it's only got 15-20k on it.

05 tc's with low mileage in good condition are only worth like 10 at the very most and their 5 years old.

yes, because they are numbered, produced in limited numbers, unique colors, and in some cases unique body kits and and grills and such.

i caught a glimpse at an appraisel book, and it listed the RS models in a separate column and they were be default higher then the standard models.

thats good news. i had a feeling they would be worth more.

anyone know how much more is the RS 1 worth compared to the 05 scion? i guess that would prove it if its worth more or not.

It probably it closer to 4, but 9-4 = 5 so I just went with it.

Yea their going for that at the dealer but they aren't worth that as far as KBB goes for resale value. The dealers are known to sell tc's for more than what they cost new, and tell you that it's worth the extra money because pre-owned toyota vehicles have 100k mile warrantys.

^^yeah but they sell them for 20k rather than 16k new. in all honesty, what can you really do to the car that will warrant a 4k jack in price just for a warranty?

If its a newer RS that's where you'll see the bigger the value disparity. The older it gets you'll see the gap between it and a regular tC shrink to next to nothing.

I saw an RS4 going for 16k with only 3000 miles. However it was at a GM dealership.

toeveryhour i'd say you got lucky. I've seen a couple RS1's sit on the lot for too long and the price get slashed because nobody liked the red. SW go like hot cakes, and FM & SSM are right behind. Not alot of people around here fancy the bsp. Never saw how long it took for an RS2 to sell but I knew alot of people that didn't like the color and thought it was too girly.

If the insurance can't get any more money than the average tc for it, why would they pay you more?

Thats just how I figure it out to be.

extra value for a release series is questionable. if you go to any dealer besides toyota than they will price it like a normal tc. they don't care about release series or mods, they are trying to make money. it they price it by putting up for auction, than the price is taken over all the tc's being sold at auction.

NADA lists them separately as does my insurance company. I did pay a premium for my RS1 simply because I felt the car was worth it. Someone who is just looking for a used tC for transportation and has no knowledge of the release series would not be so inclined to pay the premium.

They came out in late '04, and we're not even in '09 yet, so it's barely over 4 years.
