Hi,

1st of all I performed a search and couldn't find anything about this topic.

I just recently got around to bringing my car in for the wind deflector maintenance.

After I got the car back, I couldn't tell if anything was done. Is the laminate kit supposed to be applied to the outside of the deflector or the inside? If I feel around the edges of the glass, I am not feeling an extra layer/ridge that a laminate or window film would leave. Is the laminate kit a spray-on application?

Inside of the glass. You won't really notice much at all. Not a spray on... kind of a vinyl type of application.

I got my car a couple months after I heard of this problem, how do you know if it already been fixed on your particular tC?

 

hmm.. i would look for the laminate under the deflector.. probably see a distinct line at the edges

but if anything... toyota/scion does keep track of the vin#'s and such that have and need to have done

 

Yea, they can check your VIN# at the dealership and that will tell them if the deflector recall was performed yet or not.
