Default window tint (other than charcoal) $$$?1?1

I have gotten estimates on charcoal tint (hatch, rear windows, and 6” strip on top of winshield), and they have been between $120 and $250.

Ideally I am looking for a blue-mirrored tint, but I would settle for just a blue tint.

A local shop quoted me at $1000 for blue-mirrored. At first I though he was just being a smart ___, but then after he remained serious while explaining how it was done (layer of this… layer of that… layer of this…) I just walked out the door cause I don’t plan on spending that kind of money on my windows.

Another shop quoted me over the phone for just a blue tint for around $200.

So the question I ask is how much has anyone paid for tint other than charcoal colored?

$1000 is ridiculous....

I would just buy my own blue mirror film and take it to a tint shop to have it installed. Gila makes a Pacific Blue mirrored tint. Check out these links below:

Also that other shop that quoted you $200 for normal blue tint sounds about right.

How are you going to apply a colored film on our smoked glass windows and expect it to be seen? Are you going to apply it to the outside of the windows? That isn't recommended.

that is a pretty crazy price. IF you are confident enough do it your self, or dont do mirrored.

1000 bucks? he's just taking advantage of the fact that you want to be different, and you look like you could afford it.

+1 for buy the tint, and walk it to the shop.

the truth about tinting: it's really easy when you know how to do it. they know how easy it is, basically like printing money. 200 is actually a rip off, but it's a standard price, and we accept it.

the truth about my tint: I know all that and still paid. I have never been able to tint very well. it's the only thing on my car i didn't do myself.
