Would this be covered under warranty???
I recentyly busted my back glass out in a wreck. I just got it back from the shop. The latch on the hatch is sticking because glass got in there. I told the guy not to worry bout it cuz it was another 230 dollars and i was already paying for the damage myself. Does anyone know if my warranty would fix this?
make the other insurance co. pay for it...its not warranty, its an insurance claim...unless you were at fault, then you might want to pay out of pocket instead of risking a higher premium for a few years...
i did it myself i have already fixed all the other damage i just would like to know if that would be coverd under warranty
Like if i told them that the latch was just sticking and i didnt know what was wrong with it???

I wouldnt say it was from the wreck though i mean it didnt happen in the wreck but when i was cleaning it up and glass got down there. Couldn't i some how blame it on scion for like not covering that area so ____ doesnt get lodged in there??
Im just trying to get out haveing to pay 230 for a new latch and just wanted everyone on heres opinion.

Basically, yeah you can try it but be prepared for the consequences of intentionally filing a fake claim.

call megeorge parts. www.mcgeorgeparts.com and get their phone number and ask for some help. mcgeorge is a great place to do business
My friend had a similar problem to yours and did what you are thinking of and then some. Pretty much its a lot of work for small savings and very large costs if you get caught which in your case doesnt look too good. Just pay it and get it over with and leave it as a learning experience. Is there any way to take the latch apart and clean it out? Might be worth a shot if its not going to damage anything else.

One must remember what a warranty is and isn't.
A warranty is to cover DEFECTS in the original parts or assembly of the vehicle when it rolled out the factory door. If they made it wrong, they will fix it.
