a cyclo?
what pads?
you may have buffed right through the clear coat
scions don't have the same high quality paint as the cars you are mentioning
what polish did you use?
it doesn't sound like you have much experience with that machine

one person can make a car look beautiful and another person can ruin a paint job with the same tools because of the difference in experience

Bird poop will ruin anyone's paint if it's left on long enough. It etches in.

Ok, try this before you freak out any more.

Go get a good car soap, like Meguiar's. Wash your car in the shade, dry it with Microfiber towels, then polish it with Scratch-x or even a haze remover.

I thought my car had faded spots on it the last time I washed it. Turns out, sap had just smeared around and created some dull spots. I had to wash the car again, but no biggie.

Then put a good coat of wax on your car, by hand with pads. See if that doesn't make a difference.

I'm not trying to patronize you if you're doing those things already, btw.

If you still have a problem, why not call Scion Customer Service and ask them what can be done.

dude, no offence or anything, but you are not making any sense.

the tC's paint isnt that bad...but from the sounds of things, you have been buffing and waxing your car too much. You dont need to buff or wax your car more than once a month.

It sounds like you buffed right through your clear. quit your complaining and learn how to care for your car.

my tC was 2 years old before i traded it in and i buffed and waxed it once a month. i used a wheel and buffed with meguires (sp) once a month. then waxed right after. I never had a single problem with paint, you screwd up, live with it.

Paint just doesnt fade after 8 months..it just doesnt happen, it will peel, flake off, but it wont fade. The only way it will is if it came from factory "blotchy" or "cloudy".

For a detailer, you don't sound very experienced. You should know your product.

How about sentences expressing one thought at a time, using commas and periods? This is making my head hurt.

I fixed your grammer by hand (not by spell check BTW). Just thought people should be able to understand what you're saying without having eye strains like I had when reading it.

It's good that you came here for help. However, it seems that you could have just gone to your work and asked what could have been the problems and solutions.

This is mainly what I wanted to ask when reading this:
So, Scion is taking the car back and just redoing the paint job or are they giving you a new tC in whole? Either way, it just shows how Scion is being helpful to the consumers.
Also, is the whole car paint fading or is it in different spots/sections?

sorry they took it back to the back to let the body shop men look at it and said for me to bring it back tomorrow and get it fixed there nice enought o give me a loaner tc for the days they need it. So im much happier and the people at the toyota dealership were nice enought o help me out and stand by me. I was worried that they would accuse me of something like bucket did and it would be an ongoing battle. Did you know why i was there i went and got my trade in value and its an 06 with only 11000 miles and its worth 15500 that crazy. Also the guy said that the fuse will be out in 08 but scion is trying to make it a four door. Thatll be a mistake but yeah now im going to get everything fixed that god and get some of my squeeks fixed while im there(i hope) but i know the squeeks are an ongoing problem but if anyone has that problem with there paint just take it in and theyll handle everything. For some very odd reason i they just said to bring it in and theyll fix it andnothing else no explination or anything so im going to get a copy of the report and try to figure it out

To me it sounds like they are just going to clean it/detail it themselves and try and correct whatever the problem was, doubt they will repaint/clearcoat it. Guess we will find out when you get the explanation of service report, though they could just put "paint maintenance" etc on there.

PERIODS AND COMMAS

no one is going to take you seriously unless you acutally use them.

As for you telling me i dont know what im talking about when it comes to paint, you are quite wrong. I've worked in a body shop since i was 16 and have been painting, yes painting actual cars for an actualy bodyshop, since i was 17. I have taked several class's both with sherwin williams paint and also dupont. So before you go spouting about me not knowing what im talking about, ask me.

i was not being rude with anything i was saying, i was simply stating the fact that you were not making any sense with what you were saying.

Now as i stated in my previous post. You dont have a paint problem. Scion does not have a paint problem. 99.9% of problems with "paint" is actually the clear. The only paint problem manufactuars have is what they call "light paint" meaning you can see through the paint to the black/grey color of the metal. But you said it looked "faded". So obviously its not a paint problem. I still say that you. yourself caused the problem buffing and waxing. I dont doubt that you take good care of your tC, nor did i say i thought you didn't. And when you tell me you deal with the interior and not the exterior at your work, that leds me to believe that once again, you did mess up the clear while buffing.

If you heat up the clear too long, it will cause it to move and give it a faded/blotchy/smudged look. You heat it up by leaving the wheel in once place too long and or not having enough compound on the wheel to begin with.

all in all, i wasnt trying to tell you taht you dont take good care of your car, because i believe that you do. I was just saying what i thought was wrong and also was correcting you taht it wasnt a "paint" problem nor was it scions fault. clear doesnt fade after 8months. it takes several years for clear to fade.

wow check my stuff out, periods and commas, might be some spelling issues..but hey, doesnt hurt the head to read it now does it?

Well sorry bout the misunderstanding bucket, I get a little angry and tend to not use spell check and proper grammer when people attack me and my car. I now know that you and others were just wondering. Thanks for the advice, I hope they just dont buff or something like that instead of the paint issue. We have a lot of dirty rain in our area which leaves the pain loooking like crap also but when i went to scion they immediatly took care of it (like it happened before). No I dont have a problem with the paint its the factor of when I get problems with my car I freek, especially when Im paying for it each month.Money comes short right now bc of getting ready to finish my masters i business so I can get the shop started. Sorry but I dont do the buffing we have my boss and his son do it. They have been doing it for a while so I trust them and they have also buffed my previous cars and my moms and Ive never seen a problem yet. So to answer a previous question nope no new car just their going to do something with it. Thats all they told me, but I will get a detailed report and post back ASAP.Not to go against you but kind of watch out the way you approach people bucket it sounds a little offensing at first but since the last comment I see where your comming from. Thanks for the advice, post back details soon.
Wow see i used that stuff arent you proud of me.
