Wth, After Market Exhaust = "race me" sign?
Anyone feel that when people see your stainless steel shining and they assume you want to race them? I have Zero performance on my tC, I just wanted some style when I bought my axel back and I constantly get stupid 16 year olds in beaters trying to race me, that and fighting traffic to get next to me. Anyone else experience this a lot after getting an exhaust? Or maybe I'm just not used to owning a car...I did have an Astro van before this...and no one notices vans...
lol...its those stupid kid drivers thinking exhaust means everything. like when u hear an exhaust, you tend to look to see what it is. for the most part, its just rice. they think it means ur car is "fast".
it was funny when my friend's 91 integra had a hole in the exhaust and it was loud. ppl were coming up to him asking what he has. i loved his simple response of "no pipe".

I get the same thing with the Injen intake. Funny thing is, the intake directs noise out to the left-front instead of out the rear. If I am in the right lane and I take off from a light, even at a normal pace, the guy to my left is getting an earful of the intake noise and thinks I want to race. Happens a lot.
Luckily, my car doesn't sound like an airplane or a go-kart, so I don't get much attention from the ricer population here. There are Civic's here that, quite literally, make it sound like an airplane is taxi'ing down your street.
Street racing is dumb... especially when there's a very nice indoor track a county over to the northwest, and Gateway International Raceway a county east. If you can't be bothered to race me on the track, then you're probably not worth my time.

I have never gotten this attention like you guys are talking about, I guess that's why I picked an exhaust that doesn't sound like the Call of Rice. I would much rather balance looks/sound and performance than go with a fart machine.
I have had the TRD Sparks Borla Exhaust on my car since I bought it in March and I have not been challenged to race once, which is great because I don't see the point. The speed limits around Tallahassee are 35-40, highest I've seen was 45.
To all those who are saying sound is an issue, my exhaust sounds like stock! I've got the megan axel back, just because it has a low tone in low rpms. I think its just the burnt tip and the stainless steel.
I too have been a victim to this. Just because I have rims, an exhaust, and a loud system people especially hondas challenge me. And i accept, just to toy with them and hog the lanes to ____ them off.
The other day in paradise valley, some si was revving me, and then we took off, but in PV theres so many cameras, this guy didnt no what was coming for him so i slammed my brakes and he got flashed at...awesome scene.

Yep around here on Friday night going to get my wife I got every friggen Honda,Acura and Mitso.......not to mention the damn Eagle talons, nisson 240s and every other fart rocket wanting to rev and roll.........it does get a bit old.........my god I am near 40 and don't want to race.........I just want to cruise in my nice new car...........
when I want to want to race i will bring out the goat and it will be over for them.......something about a bone stock looking Pontiac with `10.42 1/4 mile times makes you want to romp on it.........but gas is too much to bother with doing that even anymore.........$65 to fill the tank ain't worth it.........but lifting your tires off the ground sure is fun.......till it breaks at least.........and you have to call your wife for a ride home to get the truck........

Same thing happened to me... i was driving with my friend to a party, and at a stop light some lady in a brand new Charger (still dealer plates on it) pulled up next to me and i guess she wanted to race, so when it turned green we took off. but i dont really race, i just went up to the speed limit... maybe like 5 over but thats it, but i guess she kept goin for it, and my friend tells me "man, shouldn't be going this fast up this hill cus theres usually cops right on the other side." and what do you know, there was one. So the cop pulls her over and we were just parinoid that she was gonna come after our butts cuz she must have been really ____ed
