A head unit that is 'Satelite ready' or 'XM ready' or 'Sirius ready' (sp? on the last one) only means that the head unit has the ability to control the tuner. Meaning you dont have to push buttons on anything but the head unit.

Most tuners are designed as stand-alone devices that you must control individually.

I do not know how easy it is to install XM. I was just trying to clarify the whole 'Satelite ready' bit.

Good luck.

Yeah I know the details, I have XM in my mom's suburban. Basically all you need after the XM ready-head unit is an antenna (sometimes its already on the car) and the $10 subscription a month.

This has been discussed a million and one time. Work on your search skills.

Our head units can control XM tuner. The problem is that the only tuner directly compatible with our HU is the one sold by dealers ($400+).

The kit includes the tuner, IP bus cable that would work with our HU and the antenna. Installation takes couple of hours if you know what you are doing.
