Default yay! just joined the club!

my new car. :D just got it 2 hours ago.. and my first mod was a debadging. $18K with leather, 5spd, and no other options.. and free Sirius radio for 9mths. The truck next to it is my trusty old Rodeo..

(hehe.. my family sure loves silver)

soo.. now to find a good suspension setup that's not all crazy like coilovers or whatever, and a decent set of wheels.

umm, couple questions.

1. Is it an 05 or 06?

2. How did you manage to get leather? I didn't even know that was an option.

3. For the satellite radio, how did you get 9 months for free? Did you have to pay $450 for the satellite radio upgrade?

1. it's an 05
2. leather is an option the dealership offers. $1500 and they bring it to a shop that does it. most dealers should offer this too! just ask.
3. satellite was free from my dealer. they give you the equipment and service for 9 mths.. after that.. if you want to continue, you pay the monthly from Sirius.. it's like buying a cell.. you get a free phone if you use it for 2 years.. etc.. most people opt to continue their service.

yep.. but Sirius isn't a toyota oem part.. so technically they're not breaking the rules. the dealership itself had a contract with Sirius.. it's something different then the Toyota version.

You didn't get ripped off, but you didn't get anything for free either. If you got an auto and 400 dollar documentation fee plus if you lived in the south east region which is 70 dollars extra on delivery (so 585 total) and they charged you a hefty 400 dollars documentation fee, you would be looking at 17,800, aprox. Now add leather, and the HU, your are certainly looking at over 19K.... for the auto,... should be less for the manual.... so... I don't know if you got ripped off just a little or not, but you certainly did get anything for free.

Oh and for all other future scion owners, do not pay 1500 for leather... there are places that will do it for 800... scion is supposed to charge, I'm too lazy to check but I think it is 1199... so if they said it is anotehr 301 for installation, that's pure BS. There was a guy on these forums in fact, that showed his scion dealer a quote for 800, and they match it.

Yeah, I read that.

Ok, base price for a 5 speed tC is $16,200 plus the $515 they add on for all that other dealer crap. That is $16,715. He claimed no other options other than the leather, which I will get to in a moment.

$16,715 is base price with no addons, and BEFORE tax, tag and title.
Add $1,500 for the leather.

That is $18,215. That leaves Tax, tag and title.

He claimed 19,900 out the door, so that difference should be the tax, tag and title, right?

Correct me if my math if flawed somewhere.

I know at Longo they are offering a free upgrade for sat and offering 9 months free of sat service if you buy an 05. I guess they are trying to get rid of the 05's before they get the 06's.

nope, you are correct. my tax, license, fees were exactly $1619.00 on a price of $17855.00. in ca figure close to 10% of the price of the car as a rough estimate.
