Any new car should be less than 10 miles. Preferably less than 10. If it's around 100, it's a demo. hmmm, it has Km/H section. I wonder what the JDM counterpart will be :?

As Scion Tc's become more available, dealers will start trading with other dealers in their region to meeting customer needs with local availability. When this happens the car is new and not a demo (driven by a sales person for personal use) and can have up to 250 miles, perhaps more.

In dealer trades, dealer (a) swaps a car that they have in inventory with dealer (b) who has the color or whatever that the dealer (a) customer wants.

Because then the dealer would have to pay for it. If I am locating a car for someone I can trade with another dealer and then I drive over there and pick it up myself. This way the customer does not have to pay any extra for this service.

Simple answer. In a trade a car has to be swapped. Ok so far. The cost for a trade has to be paid by someone.... guess who? The customer typically although trade cost may be buried in the purchase transaction. Cost to hire a retiree to drive car back and forth from dealer to dealer may be $100 without a tow truck. Cost to include driver's time plus a tow truck perhaps $500. Only under rare circumstances will $500 be acceptable to all involved.

The person with 1 mile....I don't know if that's too good! Does that mean no one ever drove your car? Including you? My dealer told me my car would have a couple of miles on it because their mechanic had to test it.

Mine had a ridiculous amount of 25 miles on it. It must've been taken out to be test driven which is absolutely wrong because I put a deposit down on the vehicle. Oh well..

My first new car was a '91 crx, and that had 125 miles since it got traded in from another dealer. I never had a problem with that one. On the other hand, it was a HF model with a with a leafblower for an engine. If it did get broken in incorrectly, there wasn't much horsepower to lose anyway. That was the ultimate trip car tho.. 50 mpg hwy. Before any of this new hybrid mumbo jumbo!!
