$200 reasonable for stech install
we all know that there is a nice difference btw the amount they charge per hour and the actual amount they charge. At the dealers, the 'book' says a spring install should take lets say 4 hours, so thats what they charge even if they had it done in 90 minutes.
My dad once dropped off his car at 12pm and picked it up at 3pm and they charged him 4 hours labor, only got the refund for the hour after writing a letter!
The dealer charges MUCH more than $200...if thats too much, then find a friend to help. Remember, everyone is out to make a profit and so if the dealer charges $400, why should a local shop charge less than $200? they can EASILY get it!

im just asking cause ive never had new springs installed and my neighbor put in his springs on his tc so i asked him to do iti should have my springs next week and a few days after they should be on thats how much he wanted to do it because hes gonna take it to the dealership he works at on his day off and do it
i paid $250 on my last tc and the guy who owns the shop gave me 100 bucks off since he knows my mom or something. but i was there the whole time the guy was installing them and it took about 3 hours overall.
he had also not installed springs on a tc before though so i don't know if it'd be quicker for someone with experience in installing springs on a tc.
after watching him do it though, it's really no that hard. i'm just gonna do it myself on my new one with help from a friend.

Gresham Toyota here quoted me $179 to install 3rd party springs, then $89 when I want to come back for the alignment... the price really surprised me! Gonna order my hotchkis set this weekend... I so can't wait!
Plus I have a coupon for $10 off any labor work there... anyone else get those in the mail over the holidays?

I hate you all. All shops around me said $300+ for install. I did the damn things myself. Paid Mieneke $100 to put the springs on and did the re-install myself. Should have only paid $50 because you don't need a spring compressor for the rear springs, just put them in and use a hydraulic jack.
We actually have a dealership here in Louisiana that does the TC install for $200 with alignment. Took about 3-4 hours. Most other dealerships wanted 3x that much and even local shops were higher or just flat out didn't want to touch it.
I couldn't pass up that price knowing it was installed by the dealer.

i want good quality work on my baby, i'll paid a shop to do it and try and lrean from them. i have a friend that say he knows but i dont want to go through the problem of them finding time to do it or them messing up on my car! i went to Mieneke and they told me $550 i was like WTF! i walked out I then found a custom shop, where they told me 200 and they said it takes like 2 hours. he said he drop a tc not that long ago with the same s tein springs i just order from ebay! so thats where im getting mines done.
