Default AftrMrkt Rotors

If you purchase the Slotted or the Slotted/Drilled rotors...

Do they wear out like Reg Rotors then have to machine them too??

Just always wanted to know!...

Thanks!

Maybe I didn't word it right..haha

Since Slotted rotors are hella expensive etc..
Do you have to Machine them just like Reg. rotors?

or Do the Slotted ones stronger and never have 2 be Machined??...

Does that make sense....sorry

i think u could machine em... coz uhmm, the slots are actually chamfered/ tapered/rounded(or watever they call it) on the edges so the bit wont get stuck there...

again, you NEVER have to "machine" a rotor, vibrations are caused by crappy brake pads leaving deposits on the rotors, if you ever get a vibration, buy a set of race pads and scrub the crappy padding off, then put on a set of high-quality street pads to prevent that in the future.

We dont recommend machining rotors unless its a last ditch effort to remove uneven pad deposits. Wear marks and grooving on rotors are not necessarily a "bad"thing ant wont affect performance in any signifincant way. Any time material is removed from a rotor, heat capacity decreases and the rotor will be less effective at doing its job, absorb and dissipate heat.

When using factory or any aftermarket rotor, any pad labelled as a "street" compound will work just fine. Look for one that suits your needs (low dust, quiet, high bite, etc) and go with it.

hawk and axxis are both good but i'm sure you'll want to hear it from instigator.. In rergards to never maching rotors, I'm sure someone else on this forum has warped atleast one set of rotors in their lifetime or is it just me

If you arent looking for tons of initial bite (and the dust that goes laong with it) then the HPS or Deluxe plus should suit you well. Ultimates offer the more bite than either pad and have a gerat pedal feel, but also will dust quite a bit more with increased chance of noise. We have some other pads available from our parent company available which have been shown on a brake dyno to outperform some aftermarket pads while being quiet and low dust and very inexpensive that may be an option as well. PM me for details.
