Default Anyone have Hotchkis Sway Bars without lowering???

Just wondering if anyone has the hotchkis bars on but is not lowered? How is the handling over stock? I am gonna lower mine but theres not alot to choose from so far and i don't want coilovers again due to alot of alignment issues with previous car.

I just ordered mine yesterday, and I don't have my car lowered, and don't intend on it either. I am hoping its going to solve my handling issue that I have with the car, and I will let you know once it gets finished.

I'd be interested to hear how it affects things as well.

while there will be a difference. it wont' be as noticible compared to a tC with a lowered center of gravity. When your car has a higher center of gravity the sway is greater.

Don't see the logic in that statement.

Say the sway bar reduces 'sway' by 10%, the reduction in a non dropped car with be a greater difference becuase it sways more, than on a car with s-techs that have much less sway.

You mean to tell me you think Lowering your car is purely cosmetic. And you don't know why SUVs and other vehicles like them are prone to roll over? You don't understand the logic of something with a lower center of gravity is more stable than something with a higher center of gravity?

Did I say the Sway bars wouldn't be effective on a non lowered car? I said the effect would be greater on a lowered car.

I think you're missing the point.

Lets say we measure sway in "sways", lets say the sway bars reduce sway by 10%.

Stock TC rolls alot, so it has a sway rating of 100. Add the sway bar and this will go down by 10 sway points.

TC with s-techs doesn't sway much, so it has a sway rating of 50. Adding the sway bar will reduce this by only 5 points.

Adding the sway bar to a stock car will result in a greater amount of sway reduced.

make sense?

I think what you are saying is that lowered springs and a sway bar will result in a greater reduction in roll than just a sway bar on stock springs. Which is obviously correct. It's just not what the question was.

I had the rear bar only with stock height. The reduction in body roll was drastic. I had it set on the stiffest. The car handled much better than stock and you'll feel the difference on the first turn.

Since then, i've installed the front sway along with coilovers and the car corners flat.
