i just put hotchkis sway bars on my car and they are awsome but the swar bar links in the back have a lot of play in the socket and make a really anoying clanking noise. i dont know if i maybe just had a bad set or if the bars made them wear out prematurely. my question is has anybody else had this problem and is there better replacement ones

 

Play in the socket? Are the tightened? My rear bar has no problems. What do you have it set on?

 

there is play in the socket like the ball is too small/socket streched. and i have it on the softest int the back

 

Sounds like you need new end links but maybe a little more description as to which part has the free play in it.

 

Uhh even mine when it was on the lowest had no play... sounds like somthings not right.. pics please

 

My best guess is that it wasn't tightened down right.

 

or somone used the wrong brackets.

the play is in the drivers side endlink. i know its dirty thats what u get for livin in a rural area

i dont think the brackets would have anything to do w/ it. does the angle the link is at look right cause it looks like it has alot of stress on it. the car still has all stock supension parts if you guys are wondering. i am gonna pull a link off to make sure that is where the play is cause i ws going by watching it while someone pushes up and down on the car.

 

just ran downstairs to look at mine, hard to tell if yours is broken in any way or not. i will say it does look kinda funky but mine looks very similar.

 

it was a stupidity prob sorry to waste everyones time the top was a little bit loose after tighting it the noise stoped but when cycling the supension it still looks like there is play in it but i guess im just being paranoid.

is the bar even from driver to passenger side?

 

yea even if it wasnt wouldnt it even it self out

 

yea my bar moves side to side but eventually ends up in the middle.
